Well, just put in my first portion ever. Tried the free stuff they sent, Jakobssons Ice Fruit first. Not too shabby, some initial burn in the top upper left, but easily do-able. Tastes a little like juicy fruit gum at first. It mellowed quickly though. Inside of can smells like crap, but hey, i don't plan on snorting it, so who cares. Gonna try the Roda Lakett tomorrow am, with my cup of Dunkin. Well, nice to finally be part of this "club", at last. Wish me well, will ya peeps? I want to kick this 30 year cancer stick habit in a real bad way. Any suggestions, advice, gladly welcomed. I'm a snuser, you're a snuser, wouldn't ya like to be a snuser too?.. Forgive me, i stray at times..comes with being half polish/ half italian. Smell Ya!!

Congratulations and welcome. Just use the snus instead of smoking, it really is easy. I smoked for over 30 years myself, quit a million times just to start again and for the first time I am absolutely sure that I've kicked the habit. You can even smoke once in awhile without worrying about going back to it full time. According to many others here, the Snus always wins in the end. -

One tip, in case you haven't heard yet, your tastes will change over time. So, if you try a snus now that you don't like, just store it in the freezer and come back to it in a couple of months. You'll be amazed at how much your likes & dislikes will change over time.
Oh, and don't make the same mistake I made and buy a ton of the same kind of snus right away, for the same reason above

The good thing about quitting with snus is, even if you do "slip up" and have one or two, it's not the end of the world. If you're like me and, apparently, a lot of other people, you'll just prefer to snus.Comment

Thanks everyone for the kind words of welcome and support, it is greatly appreciated. Am on my second portion now, of General i believe. That rose/ bergamot flavor ain't bad, but, it's going to take some getting used to. Going to try the wintergreen next, i love that flavor in lifesavers. So here's hoping that one is a keeper. Have a feeling my next order will have to step up the nic quantity a bit though, pack and half a day cig habit and all. Please feel free to recommend your faves. Prefer the comfy bags that don't juice me up and force chronic spitting. Do not want to be carrying a cup or bottle around. Besides, that just gives the old lady another thing about me to bitch about. As if she don't have enough reasons! Going out to hit the weed garden with some round up now, that might make her happy..(doubt it, though.)

I'm a new snus'er too. I would recommend Ettan Original and White Portions. That's currently my favorite.
I have an order on the way with a bunch of stuff I've never tried before though, so that could change.

I love wintergreen. The General wg is kind of sweet (Jaks too). I still use them occasionally, usually after dinner. But, if you like wintergreen, try the Thunder (strong) or Offroad (regular) version from V2.Comment

Welcome, Curtisp! Part of the fun of being a newbie is trying a lot of different brands of snus. Before long, you'll get a better idea of what might suit you, but for now, just have fun experimenting. If you don't like a brand now, stick it in the freezer and try it again in a few weeks or months. Enjoy!Comment

Curtisp go ahead and dive right into the strongs, also called sterks and starks, if you need more kick to quit the sticks. If 8mg portions aren't doing it step up to 11s or 12s such as General Sterk, Grov Black, Lab 02, and Skruf Stark. Past that level approach with caution but have at it if you find your tolerance up to it.Comment

Well i got my first order in the mail today from getsnus and when it arrived I noticed 5 extra tins I did not order!! What a surprise!!!! I ordered a few different kinds as I am sick of Camel and cant seem to find anything but Camel or Marlboro.... No one seems to carry General around here either. The Cigar shop in Dayton, OH I used to go to had it for a while but dumped it and now I am in Bridgewater, MA. I ordered about 8 different kinds to try out so I will check back and update what was good or bad. Gotta go and open up another tin and try.
