New to Snus, trying to quit smoking "HELP"

    Alright........well so far the Gotland, are good, my favorite so far is the Thunder es portion.
    I am tying to get used to using these, very different than US oral snuff......My hold time on these is 2 hours...
    then the have no taste, I find myself wanting a new one after a hour and 15 min.
    does this sound about right??......thanks again

        Yeah, that sounds about right to me. I personally don't wait until the taste is all gone (not sure I ever did, but I did worry more about how long I'd had it in early on). I keep it in until I'm tired of it, and then usually go for another one, unless it's time to eat or brush my teeth, like now :^)

          Another learning curve for the slowly stopping smoking, is this....
          I change portions more often...around the hour mark, I start to notice I have moved them around enough to get any and all Nic. outa a portion...
          So if I change for a new one every hour, I seem to crave less......

            What helped me kick smoking, was an extra sterk first thing in the morning and an attempt to try every brand/ flavor/ type of snus out there. I became so focused on what my next snus would be, that I didn't have time for a cig.

              Congrats on beating your smoke addiction.

              The snus eventually won out for me too, and I'm on Day 11 with no smokes.

              Just keep it up, and the snus will do the job for you.

                fdknuckles....I can see how that would work..
                But..being the sole bread winner in a house of Feeding 4........I gotta take it easy and make a smooth transition..

                Anyone think changing portions out faster I.E. around the hour mark....should help keep fresh Nic. /blood levels.....right??

                  Yea. I usually keep mine in anywhere from 30 mins. to two hours depending on brand and strength. 1 hour is about average.

                    I found myself at the hour mark, playing with the portion trying for more. no it is just a new one this seems to tak my mind off the cig.
                    I have smoked whith a fresh sns in place,te cigarette had no power over the Thndr frost.......so I put it out...also starting t taste a bit crappy to smoke.
                    Im down to 5 max cig's.(from45 a day Marlboro reds), and up to 6-8 portions.....so I suppose this soon in thats not bad........whatcha think???

                      you're right on schedule. I too went from a pack and a half a day to about 5 a day, for about a month. Then pretty much just stopped smoking. I'll still have one cig every couple of weeks just to remind myself that I don't need it and won't go back to full on smoking. Only using about 5 portions a day now, with a lot of nasal snuff

                        I think you're right on track. Congrats on cutting the cigs down that much! I switch mine out at about the one hour mark as well, and it works great for me.

                            I am right there right now with the second month of snus. A cig after meals and if I have any alcohol I smoke more.

                            On days that are relatively stress free 2 cigs seem easy.

                            The General Eksta Sterk has been the most helpful for me with Skruf Extra, O2 and Onyx.

                            Snus is great!

                              Try leaving a can or two of snus where you used to keep your cigs. Leave your cigs in the car where you will have to walk thirty feet to get them.
