    Los Question

I just got my first can in the mail of los and I just have a quick question. I watched the video on baking it and that went all smooth and dandy, thanks a ton! let me try to make sense... I got the pris in my mouth and it is holding very well, its been in for about 30 minutes. when you have a pris of los in your mouth is there times when you will get a very very small amount of debris that fall down or stick to your tongue if you touch it? I am a total noob to all things snus and this is my first time using los. I was just courious if that was normal? Thanks for all the great info on this site!

Also if I touch it with my tongue its not firm and hard its very soft is this also normal?

If I remember correctly you ordered Roda (or was that someone else?). Anyway if it is Roda be careful hitting it with your tongue too often early on. Roda will go soft and then slide. Once it sets up though it should be fine (then you can hit it all you want). 30 Minutes though should be well in the set up range (it is my experience that most slides occur in the first 5 to 15 minutes)

And as Tom said stray bits are normal (usually the coarser the snus the more strays there are)

I don't play with the pris with my tongue and I can get a pris of even the finest grind Lös to last up to 3 hours with constant flavor.

I do however squeeze it with my lips and stuff though, Just be careful for a while and you'll get a hang of it and will love it.

I even use lös at work now! I had it in for a board meeting today haha.

If you managed to get your first pis in your lip without it breakign up, well done . Yep little bits will fall off, that just gives you something to nibble on. Enjoy the Los ...

Below is a simple one hand (actually just two fingers) one motion method for getting the pris in your mouth that keeps the pris from being squeezed (and thus breaking up) as you try to get it in.

                  1. Hold the pris between two fingers
                  2. Open your mouth and hold the pris above your tongue
                  3. Now move your fingers with the pris to the left or to the right
                  4. Your outside finger will hit the side of your lip/mouth
                  5. push/stretch the lip out a bit with the back of the finger
                  6. slide your finger up, around the inside of the lip until it is where you want the pris to go
                  7. put pris in place, remove fingers, and adjust with tongue to preference

Important: a big advantage of this method is that there is no need to grip the pris tightly and thus break it up as you struggle to get it in. Therefore, it is important to remember to relax, hold the pris lightly, and let the back of your finger clear the way in a single natural motion

                  .

After the pris has been in for a bit, I will poke it with my tongue, flip it around or move it to the other side. The key for me, is to make sure my tongue is wet/damp..that way the pris bits don't stick to my tongue. Its a process, you'll get there. Pretty soon, los will be as easy as portions for you.

With this said...I pretty much use los as if it was a portion. Anywhere and everywhere.

                              Don't ask, Don't tell.

But I think from the sounds of that statement so quoted above that:
