    Loose vs portions

Quick question: Does loose drip as bad as portions? and how does Grov Los compare to Grov Portions? I personally love Grov portions to death but find that I do not like portions all that much and want to get into los. What advice would you give to somebody whose used to portions but wants some good ol' loose snus?

I would say go for it. I too wanted to try lös after I'd been using portions for about a month or so. Now, I pretty much use only lös at home and have started using it at work too.

I love it. As far as drip, I haven't noticed an unusual amount. But I guess it depends on how tight you make it. Lös lasts a lot longer than portions. I've noticed that about the time you take a portion out, lös is just getting started.

My advice would be to order several different kinds and give it a try.

Lös doesn't drip for me, but eventually the prilla will start to disintegrate and you'll get miniscule pieces of tobacco floating around. This happens anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how well the prilla was packed/placed.

I like lös a lot, even having only tried 1 brand, because you can portion however much you like, and you get more bang for the buck (45g tobacco vs. 24g for around the same price).

Everyone should try lös at least once, whether they want to or not :^D It's the traditional way of using snus, and should be tried for the experience if nothing else. Grov lös is very similar to the portions, and it should be a good introduction for someone new to lös snus.

Portion drip seems to depend a lot on placement, so you may want to think about moving portions to the front of your mouth. They seem to drip less there.

As far as los versus portion, I think each has it's time and place. I don't use los away from home, but there are many days when I can't wait to get home and pop in a nice big prilla. Best advice I can give is to try it for yourself and see what works for you. Everybody is different.

I can barely tolerate small pieces of food and spices moving around
in my mouth looking for a good spot to lodge themselves. Loose bits
of tobacco would also be a spittin' torture (I can still remember the
cigarettes I endured before filters came about).

I think I'd be a better candidate for snuff; some of the snuff I've seen
described here on SNUSON sure sound appetizing, something I wouldn't
have thought possible not too long ago. My clogged sinuses seem to be
my only excuse to avoid snuff at this time.

snusgetter, that's the primary reason why I don't want to try nasal snuff. I don't have sinus issues, but I like to have a clean nose.

As for lös floating around in my mouth, it's really only tiny specs and they end up getting swallowed. It doesn't really bother me unless my pris completely falls apart :x

If you can't try them all at once then Grov Loose is a true winner! Good choice!

If you pack your prilla tight it won't drip much/foralongtime. If you hillbilly it the nic hits hard and fast and all hell breaks "loose".

I'm with snusgetter. I can't imagine just swallowing tiny specks. I like Phantom Brown portions, but they have a problem with sealing the bags properly and I can't tell you how many times a good snus has ended with me spitting and gagging on a few stray pieces. If I ever run into one of you guys, I'd be willing to try a prilla, but I can't imagine liking it.

Exclusively lös snus for me. I find that lös doesn't drip at all for me. The pieces that start floating around are really negligible. Just swallow them you probably won't really notice them going down. I enjoy them though myself.

                        Los > Portions.

I use los 95% of the time. The only time I use portions is when it wouldn't be feasible to get rid of a los prilla or put a new one in, which is barely ever.

What I don't like about los, is how it all mashes into my teeth. That's why I stopped using it. It's the only issue I have with it. Same with this Makla, though I have been using it at least once a day. You just always have to brush your teeth afterwards(or I do).

Using Loose snus becomes easier after a year or more when you start to form a little pouch in your lip the snus just sits in there and never breaks up or moves around.
