Hi there, new to forum, and a snus tip

Hi guys, first time poster, long time lurker.
Started snusing about 6 mo ago, hadn´t previouslt smoked before, but loving snus.
    alright here is the tip:
a spoon of l-tyrosine (round a gram) and vitamin b6 pill, wait an hour and then pop in an ES of your choice. Buzz hard.

why does this work? a combination of l-tyrosine and b6 will create a bunch of dopamine in your body, nicotine realeases this dopamine, you feel awesome.

    tried and true

I bought my l-tyrosine from purebulk.com, and it looks like 250g is going to last me forever.

This has me wondering now if this is safe to do... But I do know that smoking ciggs raises your dopamine level in your brain or should say high jacks it over the long term and wonder if snus or snuff does anything to dopamine levels in your brain at all and maybe the dopamine is the trouble i'm having kicking those few ciggs i still can't get rid of with the snus yet... Anyone know about this?

This is why chantix was supposed to help people quit the ciggs... It would help release very small amounts of dopamine... though obviously not enough

I actually had the tyrosine before I got into snus, and I was just using it for concentration alone, later I added b6 to the mix, and noticed that I felt great after eating, then I just tried it with snus, and it was awesome.

                  Yeah, I wouldn't do this.

Your brain might become more dependent on you taking dopamine precursors by not producing enough itself.

Or maybe keep it to a once-in-awhile kick --
an occasional once or twice a week pleasure.

You can easily make a strong argument that most all drugs are safe in moderation. The problem is that with many drugs there is a very fine line in between moderation and abuse. I cannot help but wonder if you can become addicted to these dopamine fixes and get to the point where you feel like crap unless you are doing this. So now you would have dopamine and nicotine to worry about. If someone really wants to get a dopamine fix then perhaps they should take up running.

Interesting. I googled l-tyrosine and you can actually buy l-tyrosine caps with vitamin b in them.

Yep. You don't want to screw up dopamine production in your brain. This isn't simple addiction like nicotine, this is your neurons turning off L-tyrosine anabolic enzymes, which can be hard to reverse (low dopamine levels anyone?).

The B6 is ok. It's an essential precursor for the PLP coenzyme so no problem if you load up on it.

Just curious - if you artificially alter the dopamine production in your brain this way, can it be reversed? There are certain drugs such as methamphetamine that can permanently alter your brain chemistry. l-tyrosine is an amino acid so I am wondering if this might be different in regards to permanent harm.

Are we talking improved mental acuity here and/or speeded-up heart palpitations?

I'm trying to visualize the 'buzz' you talk about; not all buzzes are equal.

Is the absorption of nicotine, itself, enhanced by the use of this tyrosine/B6 combo?

                              Is Nicotine Dangerous?
"In small doses it may increase blood pressure, which can prove harmful,
or in very rare cases, fatal to those with dangerous heart conditions."
