So, I was in line at the Wal-Mart in Copperas Cove, TX this evening, and noticed that the little pack had been filled with the little round cans of Skoal snus the signs have been promising for so long. I picked up a can of Mint and Smooth Mint. I have to say that I like both of them. There are 15 pouches per can and they are very large pouches; even larger than the Camel large. I can post pics if anyone is interested, and I have to say I am surprised at how they taste. I think it's a step forward in the US snus competition.

I got the smooth mint at a shell station in Montrose in Houston Tx. They had both and the Marlboro as well.Comment

I picked up a can of each yesterday and the smooth mint is spearmint and the mint is peppermint, as far as I can tell.
The portions are as big as a freaking tea bag but on the upside, they are pretty decent.
They are sweet but it was a satisfying portion. I didn't go reaching for anything else for a few hours.
I know if I cant get any of my usual General Mint this would be a suitable stand in.
They sell for $2.09 at the local gas station for now.

If it's at WalMart it must be good. My guess is that they are actually made in China but are using the Skoal label.Comment

Almost looks like the same size of their pouch smokeless. Wonder if they had to increase to that size in order to get the nicotine level up. I'd be interested it seeing what they have the level listed at.

I got a can of the smooth mint for 2 reasons, i like spearmint and i was curious! First, the can is round and manly, instant turnoff, but it is a beautiful feminine teal color! Got a portion under my lip and no offense to my husband, this is the biggest thing i have ever sucked on! I cant use these damn things in public! The drip is pretty significant for a white and is sickly sweet like camel but a better flavor. A few minutes in, i have a little discomfort in my esophagus, i cant tell if it is from swallowing all the juice or if that heartburny type feeling is from the nic. Anyway, i spent $3.84 total on this can, so no huge loss. This snus really met my expectations, which were very low. Blech...spitting it out! A few mins was too much for me. I think you really have to spit with this, it just juices up too much!Comment

Just adding on to my review here..about half an hour after using that one portion for a few minutes, I got thee worst headache which lasted for a few hours!! Not saying it was the snus, but I'll never be able to return to that snus now, for it will forever remind me of my horrible headache!

hmmm. i have to pass on the extra large size. im probably just paranoid, but i think using large portions for extended periods of time would eventually warp your lip. this is how the human body works. if it is physically stressed in some way, it will adapt to it, like those african women you see on pbs who use strange things to stretch their necks, and other bodily characteristics. this is why before using a bulky snus i usually flatten it out a little. i love the sm types that come packaged in that circular pattern, as theyre already flat.
