Camel Robust was the first one I went to. I was hoping for something similiar to Camel Mellow, but it wasn't quite as good. Camel Robust has a unique aroma, it's a sharp, pungent aroma which is pretty much just tobacco. But it's a sharp smell. The flavor is about the same, tobacco, but with alot of sweetness to it. The aftertaste, however, is slightly bitter. So it seems as though RJ Reynolds just moistened up some tobacco, threw it in a pouch with some artificial sweetener, and there you go. Camel Robust.

If you ever tasted the discontinued Camel "Original" flavor, you have tasted Robust. I used a lot of Camel Original back in the day before I got turned on to Swedish snus, and--far as I can tell--Robust is the same flavor in a bigger pouch. It's going to be an occasional change of pace for me--far from an all-day, every-day snus, but the best Camel flavor in my book.

Yeah I actually smoked two cigs today, not sure if that's related to camel, but I'll go ahead and blame it. The stuff is now 5 out of 10 in my book, don't use more than 2 a day. The flavor just seems disgusting if you use too much. I don't get it dip like cope straight gets less sweet but this stuff seems to bioaccumulate and gets nasty. The pouch was dry when I took it out I think the can has started to dry out. It also feels like a dirty nicotine hit but that's just me.

Finally got to try this. I was impressed with the lack of sweetness. It didn't really have a taste though. Kinda bland. Love the new portion size though, and as always the cans are really cool. I could see using this after I've had about 6 beers and flavor isn't as issue.
EDIT: The nic hit is about what you would expect from Camel.

This is very nearly a maxi-portion but with a mini-flavor and a micro-nic level. If there is 2 or 3mg of available nic in these I'd be surprised. Perhaps my sensitivity is low but I did notice more nic in the new Frost--about mini strength. And after about a half hour the Robust portions become very slippery and hard to keep in place although to be truthful why you'd want to keep one in that long is a mystery. Do you suppose the cans seal well enough to hold snuff?

I wonder if the nic issue with Camel has more to do with the lack of salt. I think I read somewhere that the salt in snus alters the pH in the mouth to encourage nic absorption. If that's right, then a snus with no or little salt is going to give lower nic absorprtion no matter how much nic is actually in it.

In remembering the original camel it was the only portion that went in as fast as it came out. SWEET TEA was exactly what my tastebuds said.
