    4 out of 5 stars.

Granit Lös by Fiedler & Lundgren is billed as a traditional unflavored Swedish snus. Generally we expect that this means it is not flavored with flowery, minty, or fruity flavors, but we can assume that it will have a hint of bergamot. Depending on the tobacco blend and amount of salt used this can add different elements to the snus that range from lemon zest to Earl Grey tea.

This particular snus has a very traditional flavor, Tobacco forward with a mild burn and notes of strong Earl Grey tea. Not unlike many other snus' on the market the initial nose blasts the senses with a strong essence of ammonia which dissipates quickly and does not impact the flavor. The moisture level is good and the mouth feel is not like that of other "bargain" snus' that I have tried. The prilla's stay where you put them and hold together fairly well though not quite as well as some so, I would recommend this for someone who has a bit of experience with lös.

The nicotine level is good and to me it feels a bit stronger than the listed 8mg.

I have seen many comparisons to General but this is its own snus. This is a traditional Swedish snus and for me the comparisons end there... this does not have the lemon zest of General and clearly uses a different slightly less complex blend of tobaccos.

All in all, this is a solid, well priced snus with a good lasting flavor and reasonable nicotine kick. While it wouldn't be my every day snus, I would gladly purchase this product again.

      WHAAAT??

this snus is awesome, thank you to anyone and everyone who wrote about it in various threads and piqued my interest

EDIT: Oh my god. I just took out my first prilla and licked it before throwing it out. Godly.

Yes - Granit los is even better than General IMO. You also need to try Gellivare as well. They seem pretty similar to me.

Does this compare very closely with Grov.? I meant to order Granit and some how ordered a whole roll of Grov instead.

Not at all. Grov is pure tobacco - imagine a darker version of Ettan. Granit is a General knock off so more citrus/bergamot based. It is not a bad snus but I prefer General.

Grov is great though and probably my favourite snus these days.

The last time I was on this site was in october of 2010. I loved the taste of Granit los and orderd 50 cans. That was were I made the mistake of using one snus to long. I eventualy went back to dipping, but last week I found a can of snus and liked it so much I orderd 30 cans of diffrent kinds. I sure am glad to be back and hope you can forgive me of this sin. The closest thing Granit taste like is Genral but they are two diffrent snuses

There once was a snus called Granit
Of which I loved every bit
                    I used it all day
                    My gums became grey
                    I treasured that Nicotine hit

I just got a can of this in with an order yesterday, had been wanting to try it for a while now. I'll probably get to it later on today.

After falling in love with Granit Portions a few years ago, I decided to add a can of Granit Los to my order of snus. As expected, it smells identical to the portioned variety -- there is a very unique spicy element compounded with F&L's base tobacco, which is divine, in my sole opinion. The prilla was easy to "pinch" out of the can; the grind is similar to Skruf. Flavor-wise: read back to the description of the odor. There are two advantages to Granit: the price and the plastic can. Swedish Match has failed in both of these aspects. Personally, Granit is my favorite los; no bergamot, no smokiness, no bullshit -- just plain ol' snus, the way it was supposed to be.

                        A+

Actually, I believe it has a tad bit of Bergamot

There is! I was quite drunk when I typed the review last night, so my sense of smell/taste wasn't at its optimum performance. Haha.

I just took a pinch of this after waking up, and it's great snus! Premium Snus has it for $24.99 a roll. One has to be insane to pay more for "premium" brands.

Totally agree. Most people think of Granit and Knox as discount versions of General, but I think both of these snuses blow General out of the water.
