    Lundgrens Österlen Slim

Finally I got this a little more nailed down.

Well this snus is something. Great slim portions that are dry, but not too dry. The smell is light, it smells like snus. There is the whisper of windex upon opening a fresh can, with floral and apple hints dancing in the background.

Now, don’t be shocked, but this stuff tastes like good salty tobacco, not deep and rich tobacco, but light tobacco. There is a light hint of floral/apple-not even sweet- flavor, but it’s like a suggestion. It’s like a LaCroix. It’s there, we can smell it, but do we taste it? Maybe? I literally don’t taste this unless I put my tongue on it, and then it’s just a hint of apples with a bit of salt and some backing tobacco. I honestly felt like a noob through my first two tins of this because I kept saying “All I taste is salt”…and salt there is.

Sidenote, my buddy got a cabin in upstate New York, and there are apple trees on the property and a salt lick for the deer right there. I’m gettin’ to it. Technically, he could hunt from the porch, but he doesn’t…but I digress. it smells like going up there when the apples are falling off the tree and the salt lick is a little moist and you get that late summer-salty-appley-outdoors-fall is on the way kind of smell going on…but from a distance. With the floral notes, though, I may be pressed to say it might smell more like spring, like apple blossoms (not apple bottoms) but I’ve never been up there in spring, so…

I’ve struggled with this as the blend is fantastic, I was hoping for a Flader knock off, but found a good snus all its own. If you’re into gentle but good flavors, a hint of something in the background, a generally unobtrusive snus with-dare I say- a touch of flavor…then weeeeelll have I found a snus for you.

Also, lots of dashes in this post. That’s new for me, I think, but I kinda like it.

Hmm, I might try a can or two on my next order. I tried two colours of the Lundgrens I think. One was yellow and I think the other was green… or mauve… hmm, maybe I tried three. It was a long time ago.

Follow up, after five tins of this I can say they I absolutely do not like the smell of this snus anymore. The floral apple note has become too much, and as I have gotten used to the flavor the smell is turning me off…especially when I take the tin with me and the snus gets room temperature. Still delicious, but I’m finding it hard to get this snus past my nose…maybe I just used it too much.
