This was written with the review for the los, if there are any references.

    Gotland's Julesnus (Portion):
I went straight for the portion can first. Having done a los earlier today, I wasn't quite in the los mood. Upon opening the can, a very pleasant, slightly sweet smell with subtle hints of cinnamon pulled me in and grabbed my attention. I have been looking forward to this for so long, I held the portion and was very excited about what I was about to experience. After putting the portion in, the flavors came on quick! From most websites and reviews I read, they said it tastes like "Christmas". So I didn't know what to expect. It could taste like wrapping paper and tape for all I know. But that wasn't the case. The flavor of pure cinnamon came on quickly, and as it began to mature, it mixed into an apple cider type flavor. Great! One of my favorite things about Christmas is warm apple cider, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was a predominant flavor in this. I picked up a light hint of cloves in the background but it was very mild and mixed quite well with the flavors I had already experienced. The flavors lasted quite a while, and after thoroughly enjoying this, I moved onto the lös.

Very nice! I hate the portion material, but that's all Gotlands. It tastes like Christmas, eggnog, nutmeg, and others. I can't wait until my los comes in.

LMAO! I've had snus that tasted like wrapping paper and scotch tape before! It was Offroad Apple!! <--my personal tastes, no offense to any fans.

For those who know what N&J East is, this snus tastes exactly like that. Which is awesome. Never thought I'd get to taste it again.

For those who don't know, just try a can anyway. Can't really describe the flavor in specific terms, myself.

I love this snus. I get some every year with the intention of making it last. I always go through it faster than I think. It's definitely got a cinnamon flavor and I taste a bit of nutmeg in there too. I'm one that likes to add a pinch of cinnamon to my coffee on a relaxing Sunday morning and it's akin to that amount of cinnamon...meaning it doesn't overpower the tobacco. I usually keep them in only an hour for some reason though.

This is a classic Christmastime flavor mixed into a superb snus.

PS I wish N&J East/Wet would come back if even for a limited edition.

                anchovies.

I like anchovies with eggs but it kinda weirds me out when I get the same flavor in a snus.

This isn't an all the time one for me, tends to get a bit on the bitter side...

This review for the 2010 Julesnus

Christmas came early this year to the Snubie.com office when some of the new Julesnus from the folks at Gotland's showed up today! And I must say, this can is up for an award in the runnings for coolest snus can of the year. They seemed to ditch the old "meh" look of their previous Gotland's cans, you can check them out in last year's review, and they embraced the sleek, classy look of the Jakobsson's can. This one looks a lot like the new Wintergreen can - white with a label on it, but with some really awesome Christmas graphics on it. I really dig what they did to the look this year.

Okay, so about this snus. Last year when I reviewed Gotland's Julesnus 2009, I really enjoyed it. It was a unique, holiday-type flavor that brings to mind immediate memories of Christmas. The aroma is like walking downstairs on a Christmas morning and embracing the holidays for what they truly are - time with your loved ones and creating lasting memories of the Christmas season. Kind of cheesy, but hey - it's my blog. And I love the holidays. When you open up the can - that wonderful aroma hits you. Cinnamon, cloves, perhaps a little ginger - it smells very Christmas-y. This year's description is noted as, "Flavors such as mulled wine, cinnamon and gingerbread cookies gives the Julesnus a taste of Christmas." (from BuySnus.com) The portions are moist and comfortable with very little drip. The moisture stays intact a bit longer than average, but the flavor hits immediately. And wow, what a flavor it has! A sweet cinnamon flavor, a little hint of clove, some zesty ginger kick - it blends together really well it hearkens on memories of the holidays. Since it's October, it's really putting me in the Christmas spirit. It reminds me a bit of Apple Cider, which I noted in last year's review, as well. The salt balance is very mild and merely an afterthought to the wonderful flavor that this year's Julesnus contains. It should be noted that this year's can contains only 20 portions. The folks at Gotland's said that's all the can could contain, so I'm sure it's a quality issue to keep it fresh or something along those lines. I really dig this years release, it's just as great as last years - a tradition the Gotland's folks have kept going since 2003's Julesnus. It's very limited, so pick some up, and maybe a few extra cans to hang on to - because it's great to use throughout the year, not just at Christmas. Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the review Chad. You made me pre-order 2x what I had planned. (Not sure if that's an excellent thing or a bad thing yet.)

The smell when I opened the can was amazing, reminded me of christmas immediately. Mulled wine, spices, cinnamon. Really good. The taste is quite slow to come on and not as strong as I was expecting, but it's a very pleasant snus.

Looking forward to having one after my Christmas dinner on the 25th already!
