    Nord 66° Nordic Breeze

    ~~
New line of snus from the makers of Skruf.

Portions are pretty typical of premium snus brands. Material is comfy and doesn't feel like they'll rip or fall apart. Moisture is pretty much spot on. Not too runny, not too dry.

Flavor wise the Nordic Breeze is really interesting. It's said to be a bit of a mix of citrus, mint, and licorice. You can taste a bit of the mint and citrus, but the licorice is probably accenting the other two as opposed to being a separate taste. The flavor is quite good and noticeable. I would like the flavor to be more pronounced, personally, but I think most will find it a good compromise between subtle and in-your-face.

I'm through half of a can of it and still very much enjoying it. If it turns on me as I go through the roll, I'll post back and tell ya how it's changed.

Just cracked open the 3rd can (it was a drinkin' weekend, hehe) and still liking it. It's tasty, but subtle enough I could use it most of the time and probably not get disgusted by it. For example, I like Jak's Strong Melon portions, but if it was the only snus I had in the house, I'd start getting really sick of it after half a can.

When you first open the can, you mostly smell the mint with a little something different mixed in. I want to say it's the licorice I smell, but it's hard to tell mixed with the mint. The citrus seems to come through after the portion has been in for a few minutes and gotten properly moistened.

Like I said, the tobacco itself is nicely moistened to begin with, but the edges of the portion are still dry, so they are Original Portions, but don't appear to be quite as fully moistened like some other brands such as Thunder. You can fluff the pouches and usually not end up with 'baccy juice on your fingers.

One thing I didn't mention is that the cans are really solid. The catch lid closes tight and so does the actual lid.

I pretty much stick to the same few flavors these days (Jak's WG/Melon, Frosted/Cool Mint, and Oden's Cold) so nothing to review really, but this flavor description sounded too interesting to pass up.

I just got around to opening a can of this tonight, and I must say, while the flavor was fairly short-lived, it was quite delicious while it lasted. The scent is somewhat minty with something else I can't quite put into words (it's supposed to be mint/licorice flavored, but I can't smell the licorice at all, but something else is there). The flavor, however, immediately brought back memories of... something, but it took me about 30 minutes to figure it out. Stash's wuyi oolong chocolate mint tea (!?). Just like the tea, the chocolate isn't very pronounced (and I highly doubt there's chocolate flavoring in this snus), but it's almost identical, at least as far as my taste buds can tell. It's only been my first portion, so I'll have to see how the rest of the can goes, but it's certainly something I'd consider ordering again, although I really do wish the flavor lasted a little longer.

I just had another one, and the flavor seems to be completely gone in about 15 minutes. Even touching the portion with my tongue after that, I don't get more than a faint taste. However, it's certainly satisfying as a strong portion, and that's what matters most when it comes down to it.

I have mixed feelings on this one. It says its supposed to taste like Licorice with sweet melon. Well, you can taste a faint bit of sweet melon in the beginning but it fades very quickly and the rest of the time is a VERY strong almost artificial (yes i know most are probably artificial.) Therefore a bit overbearing and certailny not a portion you can enjoy all day. I dont hate it but I doubt I'd buy it again.
