    Skruf stark los Discontinued?

On a recent order, I had Skruf stark los in my cart and it was removed before I placed my order. In an e-mail to the e-shop, I was told it had been discontinued by the manufacturer.

So that said, Has it been officially posted anywhere?

It seems the way of the world:

New company makes brilliant innovative product that becomes loved by millions. They establish the brand name, customer base and trust.

Big company in the industry comes in with an unrefusable offer and buys it for big bucks.

Big company quickly f**ks about with the recipe to make the production costs cheaper - but most people don't notice enough to stop buying immediately.

Big company puts all development in to new sidelines using the branding of the original while the customers work out one-by-one that the old product they loved just isn't the same and switch to something else.

After a few years the big company sees that the product that made the brand isn't selling so well.

Big company drop the original product.

Everyone loses (well except the founders of the brand who have millions ... but no soul!)

      ^^^ What he said.....

      Skruf Original Loose
"Upgraded to 100% certified organic tobacco in April 2015 and re-released as an original strength snus in November 2015, Skruf Original Loose Snus is a classic dark loose snus with a clear and strong taste of pure tobacco flavored with Rose Oil and Bergamot."

That may be but I would suggest to everyone that they e-mail the shop and specifically ask if it is stark or original.

I say this because my order from mysnus had Skruf stark los and I received Skruf original los.

The Skruf website has 2 sections - the Swedish and Norwegian lines. Skruf Stark Lös only appears in the Norwegian section now which means it normally becomes considerably harder for anyone outside Norway to order online ... but it's not out of the question. So it looks like they haven't completely discontinued it.

Having said that, I still stand by exactly what I said before ... Imperial Tobacco has absolutely ruined what was a brilliant product by messing around with the recipe that made it such a strong brand, and they are too preoccupied with gimmicky new flavours, new formats and new can designs. The original Skruf Stark los was a masterpiece.

It's sad to say but unless they bring back the original stark los, I guess I will be gravitating to mostly Swedish Match products. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way.

Maybe I may venture into trying to make my own.

Skruf Lös was one of the few I could constantly use day in, day out. The Xtra stark Lös was my favourite but the stake Lös was also a masterpiece. It is a sad loss.

This is bullshit. I haven't been in here for a bit, login tonight, and the first thing I read is this.

                        WTF.

Just to keep you up to date resnor ... Skruf Stark Løs is now only made for the Norwegian market rather than being discontinued, but it makes it harder for the online shops to get hold of.

Thanks, Squeezy. Why do they have to keep screwing with the good stuff?

                              Resnor!

Good to see ya back in the house mate! Hope you are doing well!

Sorry to hit you with this sucker punch first minutes back in....it seems the way of the world these days

SJ's analysis of big market buyouts is pretty spot on (especially with regards to Skruf).

Back in the pre-buyout days (ie. the white can 50g days) Skruf was one of the best products out there. it was at the top of my rotation.

Then came the buyout and the product slid to the "wont reorder this swill again"

Company released a "sorry bad batch notice" and undid some of the production cuts they made.

The product became usable again but was still a far cry from the snus it had once been.

So to be exact......we have lost a shadow of a once great snus that we lost a while back

Still it is sad to hear
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers
