Not sure what I was expecting.
I believe I was thinking more Onyx or something. What I got was licorice. Not the worst I've ever had. It's ok but I probably wont get anymore.

Holy cow. LD Black. I need to open another can of this.

I love LD Black. But then, as it turns out, I love licorice.

If you love licorice, and you like snus, it's hard to see how you won't love this. The portion material is soft, and silky, and, well, black. The snus is just delicious. It's luxuriant and very licorice with no off notes I can detect.

Thank you, AtreyuKun, for posting this thread up. I knew I was wanting something different, but I couldn't put my finger on what. This. Is. It.

Hey, it's what I do. Of course, I'm gonna trade to Vegan for something.
But I want something a little better than Choco-Rasberry this time.

I like licorice; however, this is WAY to strong for me. The licorice flavor, IMO, is overdone.

Turned on to LD Black about a month ago.

Damn good stuff. I like it I do! Licorice, little sweet, flavor lasts without getting bitter.

More vendors should be carrying this one!

                LD Black

When I was running Gallaher Sweden in the mid-2000s, we were all awaiting the opening of the EU to snus.

As a non-Swede, I used to tell the team I thought snus looked like used Pampers and smelled like urine, and I thought Europeans would have a similar opinion.

So we designed a product with a special colored fabric from Germany which would not become opaque when put in contact with high-moisture snus, and went for a highly aromatized product. Much like one opens a jar of instant coffee, and the smell invites one to try the product, we wanted LD Black with Salmiak to the be first in a series which smelled great, and delivered on taste.

We also had red and blue ready to go, perhaps as a lingonberry, and another try at juniper, but the cigarette P&L took precedence, and new snus launches were nipped in the bud. It's nice to see JTI still supports the product.

It's too bad all of that couldn't have come to fruition, I guess, but I'm glad LD Black has stuck around. It's an excellent legacy to your efforts.

Let me be the first (or at least the next) to say thank you!

LD Black has been my mainstay the last year or so, can't get it anymore though, I wish JTI would get the FDA approval.

Tried it for the first time, I actually got 10 cans right before the ban and figured I'd trade if I didn't care for it. I do like it, probably not multiple times a day, but the licorice flavor is very pleasant once or maybe twice. Very comfortable and smooth.

I have ten cans of it now. I love this stuff, but it's more of an occasional thing to use two or three a day than an all day snus.

I just tried my first can of LD black (Salmiak). It has a strong licorice flavor and aroma which I like, but what really struck me is the portion material. These are surprisingly soft and silky portion bags, I've never seen anything quite like it with any other snus. The pouches are so soft that it's hard to feel them between my fingers if that makes any sense. I'm almost finished the can and none of them have broken open, they seem pretty tough.

I'm glad I tried LD Black, it's a very nice snus.

Holy shit! What is this portion material and why isn't Swedish Match using it? It's like silk on my gums!

Yeah, it's like butter huh? It's about the ONLY licorice flavored snus I can stomach.
