I also love the very muted Wintergreen flavor in Oden's Extreme wintergreen, It has a very creamy wintergreen flavor almost like a cream soda taste profile... I really don't like any wintergreen except this one and I for one love it... If this snus was any stronger of a wintergreen flavor I would not buy it.... Thanks GN for making this one so tasty and not over the top wintergreen...

Yeah I really do like this one as well. It just has a touch of wintergreen over the cream soda flavor. I typically don't go for wintergreen snus, but I heard this was different, so I tried it. It's not as good as the regular Extreme, but it's a nice change of pace. Whenever I order the original Extreme, I get a few of these to use sparingly.

Man I absolutely love this snus..............it is perfectly balanced and the flavors really accentuate each other nicely.
I am thrilled to see Northerner has finally gotten this one in........in fact I just ordered an entire roll (was down to my last can)
Now this is very high praise from someone who does not use portions that much and who never liked wintergreen tobacco of any sort............I remember trying a sample of this before its official release (just an unmarked white hockey puck with snus in it)..............I even put off opening the sample for a day…….Wintergreen has never made me all that enthusiastic....But when I did try it……………I could not believe how much I liked it…….I think it is the addition of the cream flavor balancing out the wintergreen that really makes this work so well.
Anyway…………if you have not tried this one yet……… you really need to throw a can of it in with your next order........especially if, like me, you are not a big wintergreen fan.................I think you will be amazed
One more thing..............I waited and waited for Northerner to get this in....and they have........but it seems that Old Ving Ginger has dropped off the list.............
GN.............Please....PLEASE.....tell me Northerner will still carry VGingerWhen it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I finally bought a can of this stuff. At least I THINK it's this stuff. It's got that green can that almost looks christmas-y. Doesn't say anything on the can that it's wintergreen, but my order invoice says wintergreen.
I don't taste or smell anything remotely wintergreen though. It made me look all over the can and look up my order history. I thought they had sent me the wrong stuff at first.
I don't like it. Doesn't really taste like anything and it's too strong for my taste.

Well as the person who started this thread - GN very kindly sent me a roll of this (and 8 other rolls) for 'taking part' in his quiz thread and I just tried it having forgotten I had it before.
Having tasted this again, and it is very fresh from the smell of it, I don't recognise my review at all - all I can think is that I had a duff batch or some old snus before.
So here's a proper review of the stuff when it's as fresh as this beautiful new year we find ourselves in:
Can
It's a nice natural green, it's an Oden's tin with the trademark flip-top ashtray lid. It does not tell you that it's wintergreen - it just says Oden's Extreme Portion - made in Sweden.
Initial Aroma
The first thing that struck me is that it's really, really familiar. Sweet, slightly vanilla-y and very natural - if you really try your hardest you can smell the wintergreen peeking around the corner and waving at you cheekily. Now I remember what it reminds me of though ... Claq Qui! That seems bizarre to me because that had the same flavour profile as Röda Lacket - and this is a wintergreen snus. Don't get me wrong - there is absolutely nothing wrong in the world with a current snus smelling like the lost Claq Qui.
Taste
The taste is very subtle. It is much less flavourful than the full-on regular Extreme portions. It is salty and alkaline on the tongue without bitterness - there is no sweetness. The aroma in the mouth is very similar to the can smell - with the vanilla type notes at the forefront - but never overpowering or cloying - it tastes more like tonka bean than vanilla. Again the wintergreen is just about there if you concentrate but is not the main flavour at all. There is also very little tobacco flavour coming through - and that is where the analogy with Claq Qui ends because a large part of Claq was it's rich tobacco flavour. You might get the idea that I'm saying that it doesn't taste of anything - but that's not what I'm trying to convey - it's very balanced and subtle but that's a good thing in a snus - it means you are unlikely to get tired of using it.
Nicotine
No surprises here - it's a member of the Extreme family and as such has the classic strength which is released over a long time under the lip. It is definitely a strong snus and at 22mg should be treated with respect - especially by people used to weaker fare or new to snus.
Conclusion
I was wrong. I think it might very much be a keeper for me because it is a strong snus with a carefully crafted subtly sweet, almost fruity aroma with some surprising similarities to Röda Lacket/Claq Qui. In my initial review I questioned why on earth it was labeled as wintergreen ... and now it isn't anymore anyway ... and the wintergreen is incredibly muted which frankly is a relief because all other wintergreen dip/snus I have tried is so in-yer-face that it is very easy to burn your tastebuds out on it quickly.

by SnusOn.ComOden's Extreme Wintergreen White Dry Portion - with a distinct wintergreen flavor and a nicotine content of 22 mg/g!
These are dry white portions, which means that they don't drip as much as original ones, provide a pro-longed snus experience and have a lower snus weight per can.
