It's about 8:40 am, I smoked one the last original formula Djarum Blacks I'll ever smoke. I'm still drowsy with Monday-itis, and I'm getting over an annoying case of tonsilitis. I'm still wondering if I have to tell the chick I made out with the other night, but I think she has medical coverage anyway....

When you wake up on a Monday morning and every fiber of your being and every neuron in your brain cries out for nicotine comfort, you need a snus that will kick in you the face like a drunken skinhead. Oden's Ekstra Sterk Kanel was formulated by mad scientists for exactly this purpose. It's unassuming packaging surprises you when you pop the can for the first time. A waft of cinnamon aroma washes over your sinuses like you stuck your nose into pile of cinnamon - imagine Pilsbury "Scarface" Doughboy sticking his schnozzle into a mountain of cinnamon on his desk, giggling hysterically. Upon popping the slightly larger-than-normal portion, a slightly sour flavor is the initial taste, closely followed by a subtle cinnamon note. The cinnamon flavor is intensified by playing with the portion. The interesting flavor is not the main attraction of this snus, however - within minutes I was given the best nicotine dose I received thus far. I felt really, really energetic and relaxed at the same time! Like a pot smoker who wants to start 10 businesses, but doesn't want to get up because he feels so good with his Cheez-its and reruns of "I Love Lucy!"
Additionally, this is no typical sterk portion. Many sterk portions I've tried burn and spice up like hellfire - replete with hiccups and sweating. Not so with our cinnamon-spiced friend. The nic delivery is SMOOTH. Powerful, but not overwhelming. The portion material is nice, even if the slightly-oversized portion makes your lip bulge out a little more than usual. As with your typical sterks, this is not an all-day portion, but it makes a GREAT portion first thing in the morning with coffee, or after a large meal.

I ordered this to try becuz I really like stark portions.

It gets me, but the flavor is great. Not over powering like I had imagined. In fact I can taste more tobacco than cinnamon which is a plus.

I am sure this will be in my every day rotation.

This stuff is god mode. I was a huge user of General ES and the smell when I opened that can was like furniture polish to me. This stuff when I open it up smells like god packed into a little can of love. I just finished my first can ever of it and wow. The taste is +10 for me, the nic hit is gorgeous, amazing product I cannot wait for my Oden's ES Licorice to come in and give that a wirl

This snus warms up to you. At first its a bit of a novelty, but the real value comes through after having had a few portions. The cinnamon flavor isn't sweet like American style cinnamon. For an American it takes some getting used to the subtle flavor.

Definitely a 10.

Yes it is....

It's a good cinnamon (spice, not candy) flavor, however the ekstra sterk juices up a little too much and causes a little burn. The regular portions are pretty good and I had some los on order but never recieved it.

god made Oden's ES Kanel Portions out of Adam's rib in his own likeness. this stuff is that good.

I feel the need to chime in again. Having ordered two rolls its good to revisit. Like Mrsnusnsnuff said this one doesn't give you a sweaty heart attack like some sterks (In my case general ekstra sterk does this) but it is a wallop followed by a nice calm chill. The packaging does suck but that doesn't matter to me because I don't use the cans anyways. In addition the portions are quite large, but folding them in half or rolling them into cylinder shapes allows discreet use which is fantastic.

I'd have to agree with all the previous reviews... This stuff is good. The cinnamon is quite subtle, yet unrefined. It tastes exactly like cinnamon spice as opposed to a sweet candy-flavored cinnamon as others have said.

The portion is a bit large, but fits nicely under my lip. The portions themselves are nice and moist when fresh, and the nic comes on very smoothly, which I can't emphasize enough. As opposed to other sterks, this does not slap you in the face with nicotine, it simply comes on gradually, strong enough to satisfy regular sterk users such as myself. I've only had a few portions but the drip does not seem too intense at all, and tastes good.

As for the packaging, it is alright, quite simple, yet there is no catch lid (which I tend to use). Great stuff though, definitely going to add to my next order.

Nice soft, moist pouches. A very pleasant sweet tobacco taste and aroma with a hint of cinnamon. Nic hit spot on.
