Due to the very kind actions of one of our SnusOn brothers here ... I am in a position to review this snus ... and I'm very grateful for the opportunity because as soon as I saw this one advertised it seemed to tick all the right boxes for my own personal snus tastes:
General taste ... tick!

So firstly this is advertised at 20 mg/g nicotine ... the strongest Swedish Match offering to date ... but let me quickly do the maths for you so it can be put in to perspective ... General Extra Strong (GES) portions are 16mg/g and the portions are 1.1g each meaning they contain 17.6mg nicotine ... G3 portions are 20mg/g and the portions are 0.9g each meaning they contain 18mg nicotine ... basically one portion of G3 is as strong as a portion of GES. So this is still an extra strong offering but essentially no stronger than you'd expect from Swedish Match.
And the GES comparisons don't end there ... the flavour profile is pretty much identical. If you're not familiar with GES then this is a very bold full tobacco taste balanced perfectly with gentle liquorice (hardly noticeable but smooths it out) and full general bergamot aroma. If anything the bergamot is a little more to the front in the G3 - and this is a very good thing indeed. One omission from the ingredients list in the G3 that is present in the GES is Salmiak - or ammonium chloride which gives a distinctive taste ... I can taste the difference, but I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't spotted it on the labels.
The Lab series influence manifests itself in the shape of the portions (long and slim) and the minimal drip effect is definitely noticeable when compared to it's juicier cousin GES! It sits comfortably high up in the lip and makes it's presence known simply due to it's full flavour and a gentle nicotine burn, beloved of all stark users.
I can't draw any other conclusion really - it's perfect! A classic flavour in a new more convenient format. If you don't like GES - then you won't like this ... but frankly I think you should man up and develop your palate
Sure, some of the devotees of GES portions might miss the size under the lip, they might even miss the drip ... and even I'll concede that it is slightly less of a full on flavour with the absence of any juice and I'd probably have both in my arsenal if I had my druthers.
However ... I think this is a masterpiece of snus engineering ... and a massively welcome addition to the portfolio.
