Give it time, you'll get used to the saltiness and the other flavours will dominate. Same thing happened for me with Lucky Strike. Now when I use it I don't even notice that it's salty.
I am starting to get occasional hits of tobacco but the thing I notice about Ettan is the smooth clean buzz from the nicotine. I don't know how to describe it but Ettan seems to feel better than the General line, and I enjoy it more after a long abstinence. Although lacking flavor for me still, Ettan is starting to grow on me.
Ettan White saved me from not liking Ettan's flavor. When I first started using snus, I ordered 5 cans of Ettan OP. I was curious and it seemed like Ettan was a favorite in most of the reviews. Once I tried Ettan OP, it was ok, but nothing to write home about. I really didn't see myself ordering anymore. I got some Ettan White in a "Bag O' Snus" roll around 3 months later. Honestly, I figured that it would take me a while to go through it, but I absolutely loved it. Ettan White was milder and I could taste the tobacco more. I waited about a week and ordered a whole roll of Ettan White. Now, I like the Original Portions, but the white portions and los are definitely my favorite Ettan.
i go through phases of thinking i dont mind whites, but i really detest sticking that dry cottony awful little bastard on my gums.
I feel exactly the same way about white portions in general, but I must say I prefer Ettan white to Ettan los or original portion. For whatever reason, I get hardly any of the cocoa/nutty/earthy notes Ettan is known for out of the white portion, but more of a straight-forward tobacco flavor.
I got these specifically in white portion for two reasons -- one, it was on sale! and two, because I need a portion I can leave in for two hours at a time during class without hassle or drip. Ettan white fits the bill. Thumbs up!
