I like it. Its actually quite interesting. Tastes unlike anything I have tried. Lasted as long as other SM portions. No clue why this is a "value snus". You can definitely taste dill in it maybe some lemon and pepper also. It isn't like having a pickle flavored portion in your mouth. I give it a 4 out of 5.
I'm quite surprised by this, enough to pop out of the woodwork to make a post. I got this as a freebie bonus points thing from Northerner, really didn't expect much as I'm not a big fan of brown portions, they're nice at times but tend to make me a little green (in a sucking on exhaust pipe way), mostly I think from the dripping. But this snus is really good, it's vaguely like 1847 but much nicer, I suppose it's how 1847 should taste, sort of minty chocolate somewhere in there. Doesn't drip much, quite a bit of pleasant flavour to be had, modest nic kick, I will get this again for sure.
I haven't done many negative reviews lately. To be honest, there haven't been many bad snuses released lately. When I first started, it seems like there were a lot more, but lately the snus manufacturers seem to have been more selective when releasing snus - probably giving them more tests before releasing them to market. There are some I tried in the past I didn't like that I didn't review - but so people don't think I like everything I'll be revisiting some I didn't like in the past, but haven't reviewed. In fact, at the bottom of this blog post I'll attach a list of the snuses I don't like/didn't like in the past. First one I want to talk about is Kronan. It's listed as a "value priced" snus. Kronan is a really interesting snus and one that doesn't taste like anything else out there. True story.
Kronan Portion has a slick, simple can with the embossed logo common to a few brands from Swedish Match. The portions are average moist, not dripping but not dry - right in the middle. The aroma is kinda sweet, a little floral, and with a little lemon scent. The taste is what's always turned me off about Kronan. No matter how much I want to like this snus, I just can't. The taste of Kronan starts with a little lemon taste with hints of pepper in the background. There's also a nice salt balance tying it all together and a floral taste kicking around, as well. As the taste matures something comes in that turns me off when it comes to Kronan - a dill/pickle taste. Odd, because I like pickles. But not in my snus. I know a few people that like Kronan, but I'm not one of them. In the end - this one isn't for me. Tastes may vary and you may like it, so as always - keep an open mind and try as much as possible because you never know what could end up in your rotation.
To end this blog post, I wanted to share my list of snuses that I didn't like, couldn't get into, or wasn't a fan of. It's actually longer than I thought it would be.

Kronan Portion
Kronan los is worse than the portions. I struggled through my tin of portions, but bought the los thinking it might be better. I was wrong. All the bad flavors of the portion were ramped up in the los, and it became one of the few snuses I've outright pitched. Not worth it at all for the minor price break imo.

The old PMI 1847 was like that for me. The can was SO badass I really wanted to like it.
But just couldn't get past the smell or taste.

I would have to agree here.... I currently have my one only and last can of Kronan Los open at the moment and have been struggling through it and just might have to pitch it, I just keep opening it and then think Nah I'll have anything else I have open.... I do have to say that I thought Kronan white Portion was the best of the bunch, I did sorrta kinda like it and mostly used it just before bed or going to bed and found myself missing the WP when the can was done....
Well. This is a unique snus. I hate pickles so i thought i would hate this one. But its better than i thought. Still dont like it that much, but it is useable for me.
