    Offroad Coola (White Portion)

Since I reviewed Thunder Coola recently, I've been hoping for a Offroad Coola, especially in a white portion. Not just to get the reduced nicotine content, but because the white portion seems to let the flavor develop much more slowly and in a more balanced, mellow way. Offroad Coola doesn't fail to deliver. This is some good stuff! From the moment you open the can, a very sweet, mellow Cola aroma comes through much like Thunder Coola, but subdued. It has a slight menthol-y aroma to it, maybe camphor in the recipe, but I dunno. Not mint, but a little tingle.

As soon as you put the portion in your lip there's a slight tingle/burn that comes with it - it's quite nice. To be clear, that's not mint. I don't know if there's a menthol/camphor presence in this snus that adds that little tingle, but it is nice. The flavor develops slowly, and is like Thunder Coola Lite, all the attributes it's big brother has - just more chill and balanced. A very natural, simple Cola taste with a tad salt taste in the background. One thing I really want to touch on is the portion material. The new white portions coming from V2 are top notch, due to a new portion machine they recently added. Full portions, very moist, but still classic white in appearance. Extremely comfortable mouthfeel. All around, Offroad Coola White Portion is a great snus.

Agreed on the portion material. That eucalyptus and lakrits were like little soft pillows! I need to get some of this.

I am loving this snus. I find the portion material to be a little too soft as it loses it's shape and gets squished fairly easily. However, it's a win lose thing because it certainly is comfortable. The flavor is great. And after about 30 minutes, the coola flavor diminishes and a good straight tobacco flavor comes through for another 30 minutes with the coola in the background. An all around winner.

Strange. I think I prefer the Thunder to the Offroad. I'm picking up this weird "minty" flavor as well. Still a damn fine snus, great cola flavor, but not as good as Thunder.
(Maybe they produced this snus on the same line as the eucalyptus?!?! lol)

yea, I think I tasted a bit of mint or wintergreen also. Can't really put my finger on it tho.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

It's like just a hint, of a cooling minty sensation. Not what I was expecting. Thunder Coola is a beast though!

Finally got around to trying this today, I have been looking forward to it for some time now. I have had a portion in for the last 30 minutes and the flavor is still going strong but has mellowed out since I first popped it in. I did not notice any of the 'tingle' that people have been mentioning but that could be because I had just taken out a pris of offroad frosted before I decided to give this a try. The flavor is good, it is different from the thunder coola, I did notice the cooling tingle with the thunder, and the cola taste was more intense with the thunder, but the thunder had a really bitter drip that I did not enjoy, I like to juice up my portions and make them drip to get the flavor release but I couldn't do that with thunder coola, the offroad however does not have such a bitter drip and is less salty, more pleasant in my opinion, but I would have preferred the cola taste to be more pronounced.

As previously stated, the portion material is crazy soft, I have gotten so sick of portion paper lately but this does not bother me in the least bit, its almost like have los in, but not quite. A very enjoyable and well made snus, but I don't see it making daily rotation, at least not yet anyways, but I would re-buy.

I would love to see offroad coola in lossnus.

I really liked the flavor profile of the Thunder Coola ES I bought but the nic hit was a bit too hard for me and the flavor level a bit too much. Can anyone give a comparison of the two in regards to hit and flavor level/profile?

Just ordered three cans to try out along with my roll of one of my favs. I agree with the others that I liked the flavor of the thunder es version, but felt like it was going to give me a heart attack, lol. I hope this is a keeper because the price is definately right. I'll report back.

This was one of the mystery rolls I got from Northerner. I'm not a cola (the drink) hater but I probably would not have order this snus to try. Just doesn't seem like a good flavor for snus IMO. Well I tried it today and it was nasty! I had to spit the juices just not to gag. I'm not sure if I'll try another portion or just toss the can. Expect 9 cans on the exchange or maybe a contest at some point though.

Reporting back. I wish they made this coola in an op that wasn't thunder. With all the thunder snus's I like the flavor and how moist they are, but the nic is too intense. A perfect fit for me woudl be something like Regular Thunder, or Coola, that is just as sticky and moist and flavorful but with the standard 8mg/g strength.

There is just something about white portions that I can't stand. The offroad coola white was ok, and I finished all my cans, but They're just too dry, and the cola/mint combo overrides the tobacco too much in the white as opposed to the thunder line. hope that makes sense.

Hey---gonna make a Northerner order in the next couple weeks, and I want to put a roll of this on it. I tried the Thunder version of it, and liked it, but Thunder is just too strong for my liking.

Question: Does anyone know if V2 uses an artificial sweetener of any kind in this one? Artificial sweeteners and I tend not to see eye-to-eye....
