About finished a can of this, and I like it quite well.
It's not very strong or distinct in flavor, which is a plus, because it's a nice mellow snus I can use all day easily.
Hard to describe the taste, it doesn't remind me of anything else. Smells good out of the can too. Has a very very slight hint of sweet, and maybe some citrus element.
I think I like the Phantom/Rothbrix Brown Pouch a little more, and I think I like Offroad Original Pouch more than that.
But this is not bad at all, I can't think of any negative. Smells good, tastes good, easy to use, and well priced too.

Got a roll of this (rothbrix) last month, because I was short on funds. The taste isn't too bad, but doesn't last that long, and to me the nic hit wasn't up to par with the other 8mg/g portions. Also, they're a little lacking in the moisture department, IMO. All hat said, V2 always seems to have a few extra portions in their cans. I usually seperate the stuck together portions when I open a can of snus (call it OCD, I guess) and I counted 29 portions in one can! Most usually have 25 or 26.

I've been a fan of the Phantom/Rothbrix brand ever since they were released but never really gave Phantom Classic portion a good consideration. Like most new snusers, I figured it would just taste like Phantom Brown because the cans back then looked almost identical. While today the cans still look the same, I decided I'd really sit down and find out what Phantom Classic portion is like.
When I first opened the can, I'd expected to get a predominantly ammonia scent but instead i found a mix of fall leaves and light chocolate mixed with a hint of citrus. There is a very light ammonia scent in the background but not to worry, there's nothing wrong with the snus it's just a natural byproduct of the snus making process. Another thing that striked me was that the portions were not as wet as I've been accustomed to from a V2 snus. In the past, most of V2's portion snus offerings have been mildly moist out of the can but recently their portions have been less moist and this actually makes the snus better, especially if you're like me and really don't like a runny portion.
The portions themselves are considered original type portions which means that they each receive a few extra drops of water before being placed in the can. This extra water helps the portions flavors to meld together and turns the material brown. Like I said before, V2 seems to have cut back on the amount of water they use in the final step and the portions are a bit dryer than in the past but, since they use a soft, tea bag type material for them, the portions are pretty comfortable in the lip for about 1 1/2 hours. Each can contains approximately 20 portions that are just under 1 gram each and the Nicotine content is at 8 mg per portion. While Phantom Classic portion is only 8 mg, the Nicotine hit is pretty comparable to the others in the 8 mg class and is really manageable.
Phantom Classic portion's flavor is also pretty surprising. I say this because when you see the price of Phantom products, you think "low price, low quality" but this is definitely not the case! When you first place the portion in your lip, it takes about 3 to 4 minutes for the flavor to begin to come out and when it does, your able to taste the flavors of earth and leather along with a slightly sweet, herbal note. This combination of flavors along with salt and a hint of black pepper make it a flavor that's unique to tobacco flavored snus and just as good, if not better, than the big boys like Ettan, General and Jakobsson's. in my opinion, it's a great snus at a great price and highly recommend giving it a try!
happy Snusing!

Bought 1 can off a friend. It's a long time since i have used Ettan OP so i don't remember it's taste so accuratly, but in my opinion Phantom Classic is great alternative for it. Atleast it has that same "nutty" tone on the taste. In my opinion propably (one of) the best "non-flavor" portion out there. (I'm big fan of mint and berries) I will definetly buy this in the future! V2 ♥

The one exception to this V2 rule is Thunder Frosted, which I liked right away. Then there is the flip side, Thunder Los, which I cannot wrap my head around. Its just chemically and gross to me.
