How does Phantom Brown lös compare to Ettan lös, flavour-wise? I'm in the UK, and can't get hold of Ettan.

This is good stuff. I like the flavour, it's subtle but pleasant - no overpowering notes, just a good smooth and dare I say it creamy tobacco-y taste. Nic is as expected for a regular 8mg portion. And the price is very right.

This will become a regular, no question.

Phantom Brown portion , like Phantom Blue portion, has seemed to have gone thru a change in recent times. The first version was almost too synthetic tasting and the portions were extremely wet. As others have said, the early Phantom Brown was....well, it could have been better. I recently revisited Phantom Brown and was really surprised to see, and taste, something completely different in this snus! Let's start with the portions themselves. The moisture level in the new Phantom Brown is much lower than the first version and are much more comfortable in the lip. There is also much less dripping with this version than the previous one. I had a portion in for about an hour and a half and really didn't notice the amount of running in this version that I did with the previous one. There is still the same 8 mg of Nicotine in this version as there was in the previous version but the amount of portions have gone down to 20 from 24. Being that the can has 18 grams of snus, each portion is just under a gram each.

The flavor is actually lighter than the first version and much less synthetic tasting. You can taste the smoky, peaty elements in the snus with a touch of salt and nutty background, unlike the first version where all you tasted was the smoke, citrus and salt. What is also different IMO, is the citrus element that was tasted in the front is now just a subtle back note. Now that you can taste the complexities of the other flavors, the citrus being in the back gives the overall flavor a touch of sweetness. Overall, V2 has really done a fine job with this new version of Phantom Brown and, like Phantom Blue, if you have written off this snus because of the experience you've had with the past version, I highly suggest giving the new Phantom Brown another try! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
