It's one of my faves. It is unique, which might turn some off, but I like it.

The only way I can describe this is it tastes like a bitter orange at first it was off putting and I did not like it. Now it is one of my favorite kind only snus I have ever ordered 4 rolls of at once.It has replaced general Original portion in my line up not sure why this one is not more popular I hope v2 keeps making it I would miss it alot if they discontinued it.

This is turning into one of my favorite snus. Somehow this one slipped by me when I started using snus. I had heard so many bad things about Offroad back when I started that I never gave it a chance. I was a snob for SM, Gotlands, and Skruf.
With the cost of snus on the rise I finally gave it a shot. I like it, a lot. It is actually one of the more natural tasting snus out there. Just a good honest bergamot type snus. It does have a unique flavor and I can understand why some folks may not like it, but everyone should give it a try.
For those that have a hard time with the smoky type snus, as in Ettan, Grovsnus, General, and the like, this can be a real nice change from all that artificial smokiness. This is just a slightly sweet straight tobacco with a good hit of citrus. Can't beat the price at nearly half the cost of premium brands. I suspect, but have no prove, that V2 may be tweaking there lines as time goes on. I remember many folks complaining about the bitterness of Offroad snus in the past. I'm not picking up any of that in the three Offroad portion snus I have had as of recent, which are original, coffee supreme, and cola.
I always throw in a roll of this with an order. May Offroad Original live long and prosper.

Just revisited these.
I think they have changed a lot from what I remember years back. The portions seem smaller, more compact and more comfortable under the lip and there's a catch lid on the can now! Like many other brands though no longer 24g of snus per tin, this one says 18g.
Nic hit felt as good as any other 8mg snus.
When I 1st opened the can I thought I smelt a chocolaty smell. Under the lip no flavours jump out at me, maybe a little tobacco and some chocolate in there somewhere.
Pleasant and does the job.

Offroad Original portion has been one of my staple snus for quite some time now and it's for two reasons; price and flavor. Offroad Original is considered a "Value priced" snus and "Value Priced" can usually be taken as "Low Price, Low Quality". To me, this is not the case with Offroad Original portion. Taking a look at the portions themselves, each one seems to be sealed quite well and after going thru a few rolls, I haven't had one open on me and I'm kinda rough on them. The portions are also really comfortable in the lip due to the soft material that V2 uses in all their portion snus being used with Offroad original portion. I keep portions is for about 2 hours and during that time, I've really never felt any discomfort whatsoever with Offroad Original. The 8 mg. of Nicotine in each portion comes on after about 5 minutes and is really manageable, especially for the new snuser! I've also noticed that there has been a change to the can since I first began using this snus. The first time I bought Offroad original, there was no used portion compartment in the lid of the can but recently, V2 has included this in their cans.
The flavor of Offroad Original is another thing that distinguishes this snus as a quality snus rather than a Value snus. When you open the can, the scents that greet you are of peat, leather, citrus and a slight, dark chocolate smell. The actual flavor is kind of a twist to the traditional tobacco flavored Swedish snus. What I taste is the earthy, leathery flavor of the tobaccos, a sweet citrus flavor that's like a cross between lemon and orange and a hint of salt. The overall flavor is pretty unique and the only snus I can even put it's flavor close to is a stronger tasting Taboca. The same hint of Oranges that's in Taboca is really similar to Offroad Original but just. Offroad Original's flavor is also much more pronounced that Taboca's and lasts much longer as well. I've had the flavor of Offroad original last for about an hour and a half before the flavor just began to fade out.
In my opinion, if your looking for a great tasting snus that costs less and doesn't skimp on quality, I really suggest giving Offroad Original portion a try, you won't be dissapointed!
Hope this helps,
The Stig

So am I crazy, but the first thing I thought when I tried this snus was it had a wintergreenish flavor, not strong, but there. I haven't had american dip in a while, but it reminded me of a much less intense Kodiak Wintergreen flavor. I've only had one Offroad OP, and I liked it alright, didn't love it, didn't hate it. I'll have to try a few more.
