Knowing I'd probably like this snus, I ordered a whole roll from buysnus and it arrived today. Now I'm glad I did order the roll...it's good! The flavor is very close to the Thunder Frosted and it's lasted a couple of hours now and still seems to have alot left. It's like a blast of spearmint hitting you right in the face. It's nicely balanced and not overly sweet, but there is very little tobacco flavor.

For ones like me who prefer their snus to taste more like a breath mint than a pouch of tobacco, you'd love this stuff. Also, if you're a fan of the Thunder Frosted but don't always want the full nic punch of Thunder, this would fill that void very well. The pouches are very moist to the touch but didn't seem to drip, and the pouch material itself is good.

Definitely going to keep tins of this one around.

Okay, my review and thoughts on this.

My very first snus I ever bought a roll of was Thunder Frosted. It just grew on me. I went through about 4 or 5 rolls of it before two things happened. One - I couldn't do flavored snus all the time. And two - I couldn't chain snus sterks like I used to. Months ago, I started using General White as my full time snus, but I always kept a few cans of Thunder Frosted in the fridge, just to have some to go back to as needed.

I love mint. When I go for that occasional flavored snus, the majority of the time it's a Thunder Frosted. Or Triumph Mint, if I'm lucky enough to have some at that time, but it's hard to keep it in stock, so it's a rarity that I have it when I want it. But, I still found myself not quite wanting all the nicotine of a Thunder Frosted ES portion. I just wanted that smooth, fresh spearmint flavor, but not all the nicotine. Enter Offroad Frosted.

The thing I like most about Offroad Frosted is that the portions are moist, but not too moist. I like Thunder Frosted, don't get me wrong, but the heavy moisture content of the portion is something that turned on me after a while. I don't like a heavy drip. Offroad Frosted portions, as you can see from the picture, are moist, but not oozing. Also, the portions are very, very full. This may be just the fact that these are the first off the assembly line, but I did enjoy that from the first few cans I went through, and I didn't notice any change in subsequent cans, either. The aroma of Offroad Frosted is very reminiscent of Thunder Frosted, a fresh spearmint aroma, and the taste is similar as well. Granted, it does not taste exactly like Thunder Frosted, but the flavor is pretty close. Very pure, fresh, clear taste of spearmint with a pleasant aftertaste. And the thing I like most - the nicotine content. 8mg portions. Granted, form time to time I do like a sterk, but when I just want a mint snus, it's nice that I can now reach for a non-mini portion with a regular portion nicotine content and a great flavor.

I'm giving a big kudos to V2 for dropping Icemint (which I never really could get into, it was okay...but nothing spectacular), and bringing us Offroad Frosted. A great addition to the V2 family, and a welcome addition to my snus library.

I've only had a few portions out of my can of Offroad Frosted, so keep that in mind.

The flavor: It tastes pretty much just like Thunder Frosted.......if you've have the dry cans.

The portions are full and fluffy. They are also stiff and rigid. The portion material is the same as I've experienced with Thunders "bad" batches. Heavily stitched, rigid portion material. They lack the clean seam, and soft material of other Offroad products.

With that in mind, they DO have that sharp spearmint flavor, but those looking for a lower nicotine version of Thunder's very moist portions will be disappointed. They are fairly dry and don't capture the wet feeling of what Thunder is supposed to be.

On the plus side, if you are O.K. with them being dry, they do last a very long time and the flavor stays with it.

Definitely one of my newest favorites. I've not been the biggest fan of "flavored" stuff, but this has me hooked.
It has a nice nic hit, a slight burn, and lacks that overpowering sweet taste that I expected to get.
There's a roll or 2 of this stuff in my future.

I like it but I'm waiting for my Thunder Frosted Long+ to come in to make my final choice on V2 Frosted portions, I think I might like the Long+ better since it's not a ES.

I do however like Offroad Frosted lös, I actually have some in right now. :P

Holy shit. It's only $18.74 per roll at Northerner?!
              I'll take one!

Tried this for the first time today at work, and actually have another portion in now. As those of you who read my reviews know, I don't care for mint snus, but this is delicious! I was very surprised to see how much I like it.

I opened the can and was greeted by a fresh smelling sharp spearmint aroma, which I found similar in scent to camel frost. I detected a good deal of sweetness in the aroma and was having second thoughts about bringing it to work, but upon putting a portion in I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no sweetness in the snus itself. It is a straight spearmint flavor with tobacco undertones sneaking around in your mouth. The portions themselves seemed a tad on the dry side to me, but they juiced up pretty quick. There was also a cold burning sensation that accompanied it, similar to the burn of camel frost, but not unpleasant at all.

I also noticed that the nic hits quicker from this one than what I am used to, I felt a good deal of the 8mgs within a half hour period, it actually made me light headed after a while. Believe it or not this frosted hit me quicker and harder than onyx or N&J. Maybe its the PH or something.

All in all I will definitely grab a few more cans with my next order. I don't think it will make daily rotation, but I can see me using it a few times a week or more.

I ordered a roll of this stuff since it was under twenty bucks. It's a nice change for me since I normally use a natural tobacco flavor over flavored snus but this wasn't overpowering or sweet. The only thing I don't like about it is that it burns my gums.

                    The burn means it's working!

I don't get that burn with Jakobsson's Classic Strong or Thunder ES Coola or any other one. The only two that burn are Onyx and this stuff.

Just tried a portion for the first time, never had Offroad before and I was a bit skeptical as it is a 'value' snus. I was actually pretty shocked at how good this stuff was... Same flavor as Thunder Frosted, nice burn when you pop it in, and decent underlying tobacco taste. Just like Thunder Frosted yet not as strong, which isn't bad. Overall a great snus, especially for the price.

After going through a whole can now, I probably won't be getting too many offroad products in the future. This stuff is packed with flavor, and I still find it to be an amazing snus, unfortunately the one downside I found is that it is quite weak in the nicotine department. I wouldn't doubt that they do contain the stated 8mg/pouch, it seems like more of a free nicotine issue with regards to the absorption, they seem weaker than other regular strength portions from other brands. I will probably be getting some various offroad cans on future purchases, although it will mostly be for flavor, I won't be buying this stuff as a daily go-to snus.

I love this snus, its definitely becoming one of my faves, Ive been using it every day lately. I prefer the los though, but thats just me.

This is the only mint snus I will use, the only reason I got hooked on it was because I love spearmint and there is no sweetener, if this was at all sweet I would hate it.
