Sad day for Snus in WA State...

Since PACT, I have placed a few orders. As of this month, oddly enough... it is cheaper for me to buy Copenhagen locally on an Indian Res than to buy Snus online.

Last week when I had a sleeve of 10 cans in my online cart, the total was $63. $27.50 for product, $20.70 for tax, $14.77 for shipping.

With coupons from US Smokeless Tobacco, I bought 10 cans of Cope for $26 the other day.

I used to LOVE Cope until I started Snus. As I sit here with Cope in the lip, I see this is going to take time to get used to it again over snus. Truely a sad day...

Can't begin to tell you how much this SUCKS!

That does suck. Maybe you could work out a deal with the Indians, and they could get snus for you cheaper.

Did you look into using buysnus/snuscentral? 3+ roll orders from snuscentral are decently priced, even with $31 shipping.

Jesus Christ that sucks. This is why I don't come to SnusOn that much any more. To see posts like this really piss me off. This PACT B.S. is really getting people to switch back to there more harmful, yet cheaper, but still more expensive then it once was, habits. No offense to you SBanks, I would probably do the same thing in you're situation. It's just infuriating.

To further elaborate, the shipping cost scheme from snuscentral doesn't grow with order size, so the larger the order you place, the lower the price-per-can is. Stateside distribution doesn't grant this as both your shipping and flat or percent tobacco tax will scale (at least from what I understand running Northerner test orders).

Yes, it sucks, but if you want to keep up with snus you'll need to check overseas.

That is close to what I paid for 10 cans overseas. It is now officially the same price for me to order online verses going to my local tobacco store.
Of course there is only the general line right now but once that expands to other brands I will stop the UPS ordering hassle.

Maybe you could ask for pick-up?

Thanks for the sympathy guys, it's appreciated.

@lxskllr - thought about asking them about brining it in, I'll put together a good pitch and run it up the flag pole.
@Habs - I think the loss of USPS probably has to do with the "adult signature" required now, I think in part due to the PACT.
@raptor - don't think the quantity would matter as it's the Washington state tax that is the largest $ burden of the purchase. Yeah, say I got thirty cans and it remained $15 for shipping, I'd then be paying $63 just in WA tax.
@Veganpunk - Yeah, it sucks that I have to choose a much less healthy alternative, due to this. But I must satisfy lady nicotine. And it is a lesser evil (maybe) to cigarettes that I quit years ago.

But this Nov. here in WA, we have two bills coming up to do away with our state run liquor stores and their taxes. For a bottle of Evan Williams (black label) bourbon I pay about $29. If the law goes through, I'd pay $19 or less. Take a guess on how I'm going to vote. :-)

Before moving here back in '91 I lived in Taxachusetts, what a welcome change it would be to have their taxes instead.

Again, Thanks Guys! Have a great weekend and enjoy your snus!

Mr. Banks it would be better if you just skipped the tax part. After all it´s a free country and the taxes are unjust.

Trust me, I feel your pain. I decided I will not order post PACT anymore (WA ain't getting my money for some politician's pocket). Just do the VIP donation here to at least get some Jax WG or Thunder.

I too am hurting that a roll of snus costs me DOUBLE or MORE shipped than what it did a few months ago, plus I have to be around to sign for it which is very annoying.

I'll be voting to repeal the state's liquor tax on I-1100 and I-1105, passing one of these would certainly help offset some of my expenses.

For me that would still be a lot better than cigs. I would pay
about $45 -$50 for 10 packs of cigs. 10 cans of snus will last
me about 24 days compared to 10 days for 10 packs of cigs.
And I don't inhale my nicotine either.

I'm very reluctant to make future orders, because it is double in price now, or more. I paid $60 for 12 cans. Yes, I know many have it way worse than that. But I have a few cans still, and am contemplating quitting, or seeing what the local shop may have(I hear this is a General carrier).
