Swedish Match was giving away fisherman's hats, snus pouches (for belts), and I think, possibly, t-shirts, at some point. This was about a year or a year and a half ago. With roll orders you would get Grov, General, and Ettan branded stuff for free - all the webstores had them and were giving them out as gifts. I have an Ettan fisherman's hat and a Grov belt pouch, but I haven't seen them anywhere in shops in a while now.

Thanks, I have my fingers crossed that it might be a semi regular thing. I think an ettan baseball cap would be the ultimate in cool 8)

Here is the answer I just received from Swedish Match:

            ----------------------------------------------------------------------
We no longer have any promotional items. The government has passed
regulations that state a warning label has to on each item with a
            tobacco brand logo.

            Thank you

            Doesn't that suck?

That clarifies why all the items have vanished.

BTW, I wouldn't mind a tobacco warning label on my fisherman's hat or t-shirt.

And yeah, RealmofOpeth, the whole crusade against evil tobacco has more the character of a mass-psychosis than of reasonable politics. The medieval crusades, the witch hunts and the inquisition have surely cost less lives than this "all tobacco is equally evil" bullshit-politics of today. I better stop my rant now, before I get carried away.

                  Cheers!

:x And the very same fat, old, dumbass politicians and senators had a big stink brought up about their very own disgusting dipping and chewing habits while in house not too long ago here in the states. Government figures that didn't use tobacco were bitchin about seeing the bastards' spit cups in the trash. Funny thing is, nothing was changed and the ignorant pricks are still allowed to use smokeless while on in house. Bunch of hypocritical numbnuts if you ask me. Dip, chew and stinkin ass cigarette promo products are still allowed and used here in the states. What a bunch of pointless bullshit.

Totally pointless. You'd have to put a warning label on a t-shirt carrying the mere logo of a tobacco product? Come on. What's next? Tobacco warnings on butane lighters?

(Please, don't anybody find a picture of a lighter with a tobacco warning on it and post it here. It would shatter my world.)

Bunch of crap. I imagine though that they could put the warning label on the washing instructions tag so you could rip it off . Oh, I have never seen a lighter with a tobacco warning on it, but I bet there's one out there.

You know, I might actually be ok with a warning. Something like:

                            Snus

                            ETTAN

                            and

                            Die Happy!
