Thanks Jag. The pipe is a limited edition 2001 Peterson Silver Irish Harp series bulldog (Peterson shape 80s). I bought it as a once used estate pipe on Ebay for about $80. The band is .999 sterling silver. I tend to prefer billiards, but needed a bent bulldog to round out my smoking collection. This has quickly become one of my very favorite pipes due to the way it feels in my hand and how well it smokes English blends. You could easily buy the same pipe from any retailer that sells Peterson, but the Silver Harp series pipes are tougher to find.

It works great in the morning to clear out the sinuses and wake you up. Also a very nice snuff for beginners.

On the pipe front, I finished loading my Peterson Silver Irish Harp bent bulldog with Dunhill 965. This tobacco always smells amazing un-lit. I've been dinking around the house with it dangling from my mouth for about a half an hour, just enjoying the aroma. Time to fire this bad boy up.
I love the Mcchrystals O & G, I was sent a small sampler of it a while back and I made sure to put it in my first mr snuff order I placed Tuesday. A nice 25 gram tin. I love it. I haven't tried rooster yet but that dhakolia white!! That stuff is insane. I was sent some
of that too. I make sure to sit down for it. I swear I may be crazy but it smells a little like fish. I enjoy it though.

I love your setup for your snuff collection. I have a quick
question, do you find the tins keep the snuff fresh enough? I've been keeping
mine in zip locks, for example my toques in their original zip locks plus putting them into a bigger one. Is this overkill? I hate it because when I just want a pinch it's work lol. I'd love to have a nice display/shelf like yours and have pride in the collection.

I need to start smoking my pipe again. I just have an old Dr Grabow though, nothing fancy.

This thread just made me remember that Alice in Chains song.

Here they come to snuff the Rooster
You know he ain't gonna die!

That really is a nice box! I've heard good things about McChrystal's. I just started snuffing so I will have to find some of that and get it into my rotation. The places locally that carry General don't even know what the Extra Sterk or Long portions are, they just carry the basics so I will have to order some of those.

Sorry for the absence this evening. I had a prior dinner engagement to attend. I just got home and loaded up a pris of Ekstra Sterk. I have to leave to drop off a vehicle for a friend, so I will be back shortly to break into some of the snuffs seriously this evening.

@ Eric - I got the chest because as my snuff collection grew, I kept misplacing tins in various drawers, my car, the coffee table, etc. My girlfriend and I live together and she would typically yell at me each morning to clear the 5-10 tins off of the coffee table from the prior night's snuff-fest. The chest was a solution to both problems and the added bonus is that it looks nice. I keep it in the office, which is more of a man-den at my house.

@ Coder - McChrystals has a good selection of various menthol snuffs as well as florals (which I am not particularly fond of). Websites like mrsnuff.com and nicotinerush.com sell nice 10 tin sampler packs of McChrystals. This was my very first order of snuff, interestingly enough.

Check out Ebay for deals on Estate pipes - look for Petersons, Savinellis, and Stanwells. They are quality briars at an affordable price that are already broken in and can be enjoyed immediately. I know of a couple of particularly good sellers that do a great refurb and produce a like-new pipe. PM me if you want their usernames.

It was a good day. I am still rocking the GES prilla from the earlier post. I never did get into the F&T Old Paris earlier. I think I will relax on the couch with some snuff tonight.

Awesome F&T.. I have the HDT on my order too, and macouba.. I've tried the macouba not the hdt, I'm excited to compare it to like the garrett scotch I have. English vs American so to say.

Whilst the smokey Americans are great, the HDT wins in my book hands down......

The HDT is one of my top 10 snuffs. The Zimbabwe tobacco just transforms that toast into a totally different beast.

It'll be the fist tin I tear into once I get the package. Oh was askin does snuff keep fresh in their original tins? I've been keeping them in ziplocks don't know if it's overkill or not.. I hate it just to get a pinch unzipping and all that.

The F&T containers are the best on the market..... you should have no problem with them.........

Snuff flavors/scents will dissipate over time. I don't think that it's really noticeable until about the 1-year mark but you will notice a little drying before that. I guess that too, contributes to a change but it's easy enough to hydrate if you need to.

US scotches on the other hand will last forever I think. I haven't purchased any snuff in about a year now and my stash is still rockin'. The F&T containers have a little pad on the inside of the lid which makes it pretty much airtight. The HDT and OP I have are still great although the HDT has lost a little of it's nutty character. The Old Paris is still spot on.

Cool thread, and nice snuff bar Lincoln.
