    Yet another benefit of Snus

In the last couple of days winter has really started to bite in the UK, and I can't help feeling a tiny bit smug whenever I see smokers shivering outside offices having a cig, while I get to sit at my warm comfortable desk, portion happily doing it's thing

Yeah that always makes me happy too.

I was feeling a little smug this past Monday when I was at a doctors office for simple test and the form asked "do you smoke" and I proudly clicked the no box while snusing.

Winter is slowly coming here in Romania too...

The benefits are endless... smoking is for losers. ;-)

Agreed - I was getting coffee at the gas station last week and was stuck behind some guy trying to use change to buy cigarettes, it took forever for him to count out all those pennies. I remember doing that myself more than a few times when I was broke. Snus seems to be about 75% cheaper than smoking even though I still like to bitch about the price of snus.

The price is artificially high is why it's galling. It isn't market controlled, but government controlled. It's like the mafia shaking you down for $4 extra when you buy a gallon of milk at the store.

It wouldn't be that expensive if you were to buy it from Sweden locally.

If a can would last 7 days (assuming a can is $3) that insanely cheap comparing to cigarettes.

I have heard that it is even more expensive to buy snus in Sweden as they have even higher taxes. The selection they have though might make up for that!

I think Precious is pretty close. Chossy has said that's about what he pays for snus. Think about that. At $3 it's too expensive due to exorbitant taxes. Imagine what it would cost if it were priced at market value.

I haven't heard I'm am aware of the prices of snus in Sweden... is roughly $3-$4 per can.

I pay up to $12 per can and it's a huge difference.

Yes, it's $80 - $120 for a roll of snus if I buy it from northerner.(depends what snus I order but it's never cheaper than $80 per roll)

A roll of Skruf ES Los - Charged in USD : $ 80.99. (shipping + taxes)

Snusprices in Sweden are totally un-regualted unlike cigarettes that have a maximum price printed on the package.

Which leads to a huge price-span. As I think of myself as a clever snuser, I buy only rolls of what I want, save for the loose can here and there. And when you buy rolls, it´s pretty clever to go to the cheapest place around, right?

I just returned from the snus-shop with a case of snus ( I shop for a lot of people at work, since a lot of them live far from a cheap outlet ) and today is the 25th of the month ( payday in Sweden ) I bought shitloads of snus today, all in all 16 rolls of snus, to be distributed tomorrow morning to happy co-workers

Prices today. Kronan Portion 205 SEK ( used to be 192 SEK a while back )
                        Grov portion 285 SEK
                        General portion 285 SEK
                        Grov Lös 375 SEK
                        Lucky strike portion 285 SEK

And a single can of General ekstra sterk for me, desert treat 32 SEK.

Now, these are probably among the lowest prices you can find in Sweden, all taxes are included in the price.

If you for some god forsaken reason want to buy snus at a gas station 3a.m on a tuesday morning with your car covered in snow, then well expect to pay 50-70% more, minimum, maybe even 100% on some brands.

I checked and the USD stands at 6.93 today, so you do the math about the prices ( the dollar really has plummeted in the last, I feel your pain, friends across the pond

Now, pop a pris and give me some feedback on my post which I know you all enjoyed very much. Gracias.

                        /C

~$4 a tin for Grov portion. That's pretty good considering it has all taxes included.

I'm still on my pre-pact stash but my tobacco use is now at $1.35/day. It's a helluva lot better than seven bucks for a pack of smokes that would last a day. Even after PACT...it will go up a little bit, but not that much. Still well under $2.00/day for snus. In the warmth. Without the odor. and MORE flavor...better flavor. I love snus!
