Who's ready for two new Jakobsson's snuses?

Happy Thanksgiving snus lovers! As usual, the snus world never sleeps so here's a little snus news hot off the presses. But what may come as a surprise to you is that many of us have already tried this snus. How, you may be asking? Recently Northerner sent out two cans to a select few customers with their recent orders. These were simple white cans for testing purposes. One of which was the new Jakobsson's Mint Strong Portion, the other Jakobsson's Classic Strong Portion.

Following in the tradition of the recently released Jakobsson's/Gotland's Wintergreen, the pH is bumped up a bit for a speedy nicotine delivery, hence the word strong. It weighs in at a killer 14mg per portion. The product description lists the Classic as "...a strong classic and memorable taste of real Swedish snus." The Mint is listed as "...a smooth long lasting Mint flavor. With an astonishing nicotine level at 14mg/g." I've tried both and found them to be quite flavorful and hard hitting in the nicotine department. I'll be doing full reviews on both in the coming week.

Now, when is this available you may be asking? Northerner.com currently has it in stock in the US and Swedish warehouses. For those in Sweden it should be available any day. For those in the US it will be available around 3 December 2010 due to FDA issues/registration. Last but not least, please get rid of the over abundance of warning labels. It looks tacky. There's a difference between meeting the minimum, and going overboard. Jakobsson's - you're not required to have more than 34 pieces of flair, so calm down a bit with the warning stuff. (if anyone got that Office Space reference you get a gold star for the day). Anyways, Happy Holidays, and we'll be reporting back next week with a full review of both new products!

Can you explain the mint more? Is it more peppermint or spearmint? Does the tobacco taste come through the mint?

Sorry to be a pain. I've just been disappointed by most of the mint flavors out there.

Why on earth is that warning stuff printed on the top of the can? Do all cans look like that outside Sweden?? Nasty stuff. Sorry about the OT. Hope it´s good, thanks for sharing Mr. Jones

It's actually pretty balanced. It's definitely not overly sweet by any means. Good mix, you CAN taste the tobacco, and the mint tastes more like a classic mint and less like a spearmint.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

The mint's very good. It has an alcoholic quality to it, and the aftertaste is like the aftertaste from Barenjager. Kind of herbal, with a lingering burn. It's very unique. Lightly sweet, and like nothing I've had from any mint tobacco before. The stuff's addictive. You all know my feelings regarding portions, but the mint would be a roll buy for me.

Very cool. I notice both are Strong too. I love the Jakobsson's Strong Wintergreen, I think I would love the Classic too.

Won't be long. I love the Mint Strong...it's fantastic, and I love the herbal undertone you get with it. The mint flavor lasts and last too, a definite must have. I'm sure these flavors will be a huge hit in the U.S.

                          Thanks. It sounds promising.

Got it. Helps when you read the whole post, huh? As soon as I saw the Northerner has it in stock, I immediately went to their website.

We have done some adjustment on the size to these new products regarding the warning labels (it´s a bit smaller and exacley 30% of the total label) why the warning on the top label,, "ask FDA." they say you got to have 30% warning of the label on the two main brand label!

I hope you like the new snus.. I have put alot of effort for the flavor and the tobacco base..
