so i still havent made a new order since about april. i decided i probably should make an order the other day, and realized i havent ordered any since pact went into effect, and now that im really poor realized i should probably just kick the habit. ive loved snus, and its been a good ride, but when youre not sure you can spend the money on a single roll you gotta cash in your chips i think. i have 6 cans left of portions and like 8 cans of los. i figure thats plenty to wean myself off. or just use it all and go cold turkey. i dunno i might change my mind before this is done. but for now thats the plan.
i guess im quitting

I hear you man. I am using roughly 20-30 cans a month, which means it costs $150 a month (which is expensive). I've been getting it for way cheaper by using snusbargain and only buying things on sale, but in the end I think my fate will be similar to yours. Right now my spending money after blls etc is about $200. Adding another $150 to that would be real sweet.
Ive been thinking of kicking it too lately, or at least severely reducing my intake to save money. I dunno, I guess i'll wait for my stash to finish up first, that gives me a few months. But I may be right next to you pretty soon Daruckis, as snus is quickly becoming a luxury I cannot afford.

I've been out of portions for a couple months and I have just a few cans of lös at home. Money has been too tight for me as well. What is really stupid is that I've been buying General locally even at $8.75 per can because of the old poor person mentality -- $10 a day is somehow easier than $100 every 10 days. Yesterday I went to the tobacconist and he was out of General OP and even WP. I ended up getting the General Mint for the first time. My first white portion in well over a year (oh except for that Roda, jagmanss), and goddammit if this snus isn't flat out gross. The sweetness of it makes me sick. I have one in right now. I need snus! On Wednesday, for real (I've been saying so for a while), I'm doing the Gold Membership and going for 50 cans of Thunder original and frosted, and some kind of lös. Obviously the best deal at $2 per can, as long as those 50 cans last.

I quit on accident in August. Left all of my stash in Nashville when I moved back to campus. Bought a pouch or two of chew but that was it. Just now got the stash back (it was chillin in the freezer and fridge). I'll likely use it up, but after that I doubt I'll be buying any more.

I know I'm going to kick this habit some day...
It's just not today
I've quit smoking, patches, cigars, hookah, weed, snuff, gambling .... hmmmm ... there might be some more to the list....
..... but snus is something that I enjoy.. I'll try to keep it to 2 or 3 prillas a day though...

I'll bet even heavy smokers are buying fewer cartons these days for the reasons stated above unless they have access to reservation smokes. Seems like so many of us live paycheck to paycheck, as does almost everyone really, that the ridiculous prices for single cans in stores are indeed more palatable than roll prices online. This week we might have ten bucks we can spare for snus at the store but not the 40-60 smacks that ordering a roll of something will cost. May not be at all cost efficient to buy a can at a time but looking at it in a different way we can take a page from manufacturing practice and call this the "snus just in time" method.

First of all, this is one damn depressing thread. D and Roo and Master..................Guys I can't imagine the forum without ya'll. I hope you will stick around
THIS SUCKS DONKEY D*CK
Second, I do a big order about once a year. I happened to have a copy of one I did pre pact. A few weeks ago I did a test run and duplicated the old order exactly as before. The cost was $20 more post-pact. I couldn't believe it. I can live with that.
I think it is the smaller orders where the cost is really impacted by shipping (if I remember correctly after a certain weight you had to use UPS even before Pact)
Also, that said, I live in SC where tobacco taxes are very low (so no real impact there).
The point is.................... maybe placing a big order yearly or even twice a year might help lower the cost and make it more manageable (at least for some).
For the rest...................well damn it this just sucksWhen it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers
