    Tom,

    Congratulations on quitting!

Most of the herbal dips taste like crap, and are overpriced. There are a couple that I've found to be decent, though. Smokey Mountain is number one, followed by Golden Eagle. Golden Eagle is made with Lobelia, which is supposed to vaguely mimic nicotine. It tastes kind of odd at first, but after you get used to it, it isn't bad.

There aren't any that I'd ever buy again, though.

I may hate them, but it's one of those odd things I just wanna try myself. I'm going to Meijers tomorrow and see if they have any, if not, I may order from Lil Brown.

I'll second the smokey mountain. I bought a box of them once. I think there was 20 cans in the box and I alternated between Grizzly straight and the Smokey Mountain straight version. It wasn't so bad at the beginning but I'll admit it took effort to finish them all. It wasn't because of the nicotine, but the taste wasn't even close to satisfying. I think a good amount of them are loaded with sugar though so be careful. They can wreak havoc on the teeth if that's the case.

Good on ya for quitting though...'till the nose get's blocked up again?

I make a roll last around a month, and at ~$40 a roll, it's not too cost-prohibitive. I hope I don't have to quit too soon. The thought of kicking a ~10 year nicotine addiction while still in college is terrifying.

That's half the reason I quit smoking -- I did the math and was spending an average of $2400 a year on cigarettes! $2400 a year just for nicotine pleasure, and killing myself slowly in the process, making every waking morning pretty irritating from the coughing fits.
You know if the state catches you not paying those taxes you will be in for a rude awakening. Just saying, I would keep it on the down low if I were you.

I don't think that they can enforce this either. Sounds like a futile attempt to collect as much money as possible. There are so many states on the brink of a financial disaster.

OK, I'm going to visit my father tomorrow, and there are some places on the way that should have some herbal snuff, and I'll see what I can find, and try to get a couple, and I'll post reviews of them.

Try Oregon Mint Snuff. Tastes great, and it does help to control nicotine cravings.

                      Available in loose, and pouches.

P.S. It's not nasal snuff. It's for your mouth, not your nose.

Yeah, thanks, I have heard of those, and I think I saw them at the Meijer store a long time ago. If I see them, I'll get them. I'm not a mint fan, but being a non-tobacco dip, it seems like it might be like candy? Which is OK, I'll report what I fnd.

I don't know about the pouches (never tried them)... But, the loose stuff doesn't taste like candy. It's a very natural mint taste.

I am guessing these herbal snuffs do not require spitting?

No spitting. It's categorized as food, so it's safe to eat (which I used to do). All natural mint leaf (and I think there might be a bit of molasses in there for consistency and taste).

I spat when I used them. Maybe it was just the force of habit though.
