How has PACT affected SnusCentral/BuySnus other than shipping is UPS only now?

That's it, which probably lowered their volume of sales. I remember before PACT looking at UPS shipping thinking, why would anyone ever choose that? and shipped with Swedish Royal Mail instead for under $10.

damn I miss Swedish Post. I never had an issue with them and they were fast. I am also a bit paranoid and often wonder if UPS maintains some type of list for the government when you buy tobacco outside of the country.

Whatever this is what I know, buysnus/snuscentral is 3 dollars a can if you get north of 30 or so cans and northerner is way north of 5 dollars a can. I have no issue with either of them but holy crap I'm not going to spend half of my money on snus. I think SM should just expand to B&M stores I mean it costs like 50 cents to make a can that you can sell for at least 2-3 dollars, hell if you have 2 million people buy snus then you've tripled your market from 1 million in sweden and it shouldn't be that hard, most people who dip will give it a try and a great deal will prefer using it at work or other places where you don't want to spit. The stuff is relatively easy to use, potent, discreet, fairly cheap etc.

from my experience.................snuscentral is a little less on cost per can.............however they more than make up the difference on shipping cost

Same order.................same carrier...........same address..............and the shipping at Snuscentral is significantly higher...........to the point that the final cost of the order is a good deal higher at snuscentral

The point is that there is more to consider than the initial cost per can
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

The tax issue is the biggest one for me. When I am ordering a roll of General Ekstra Sterk Los at northerner, the tax is around $18 and shipping is around 15. This brings it up to a little less per can than what I would pay if I was buying through my local B&M store. On top of that, GES Los is not available in my local store, and I can make the ekstra sterk last a lot longer than the regular los. Not having to deal with paying tobacco tax on my own or worry about getting a bill at some time in the future is worth it to me.

Buysnus.com charges 25 for shipping and does not collect the tax for me. I miss swedish post also. I hate the pact act, but this is what we have to deal with now.

When I was looking into all of this, I priced out a roll at buysnus and found that I get half off of my next roll. I could get a roll of GES Los delivered to my door for about $41. I may risk it for that kind of deal, but I will probably not be using them again, or anyone else who makes me do the tax on my own.

That is a good point - don't forget to add in the tax when you are comparing these deals. It's only fair.

Yeah so if you order more it's cheaper, my total included shipping for 60 or so cans of mostly random cans a roll of thunder and other stuff it's not cheap flying something thousands of miles, across the atlantic and then to wherever the hell they ship it from there. If you live in say Pennsylvania it might be cheaper to order from northerner though.

                      Amazing

                      I check Northerner
                      Buysnus
                      and snuscentral

                      for every order I place

It is always between Northerner and buysnus with the final decision depending on the size of the order and things like specials, bonus points, and etc

I have never compared an order (pre or post pact) where snus central worked out better

                      Go figure

And because our two experiences make no sense when considered together.....................they are probably exactly right

which goes to prove the point.........................shop around................run mock orders for every purchase.....................then go with the one that is best in your situation

Some of this also has to do with selection. Granit is one of my favorite brands but they have decided not to register with the FDA and who knows if they are even going to be available here in the future. On the other hand, Gellivare is an excellent snus as well and has taken the time and effort to register with the FDA. For some reason, it is only available at Northerner.

I think the current best pricing goes like this:

Small order, 0-20ish cans: Northerner, more cans if your state has lower taxes
Medium order, 30-40 cans: Buysnus, or Snuscentral if all pricer cans (i.e. SM not V2)
                          Large order, 50+ cans: Snuscentral

For some states like Alabama Northerner is probably cheapest in all categories.

Gellivare's a very small company, like working out of your garage kind of small, and I'm not sure they have the output to get in every vendor's catalog. AFAIK, Northerner's the only 3rd party distributor that has sold it online.

I think MaKe WeBo (buysnus) was asked by one of us in the past to sell Gellivare products but they said something like it not being feasible.

If you do that then obviously Northerner will be your best bet because the only difference will be can price and shipping. In that case Northerner's higher can prices are peanuts compared to international UPS shipping.
