How exactly are they branding themselves as a "budget brand"?

Here's their explanation for the new design:

The new design is a natural evolution of the classic design, but with a few important changes.

    - Clear categorization of segments
    - Informative strength indicators (1-4 dots)
    - A natural design evolution, resulting in a clean and contemporary look
    - Lös now in a black can

We feel that that the new design is modern with strong ties to the Skruf brand identity, while introducing helpful functional element such as the strength indicators and segment categories.

We hope you like it as much as we do!

The new design is hitting the stores in January 2011!

What do you think of these designs compared to what we have now? Personally, I like the newer can design for all of these brands (there's only two brands that appear to have stuck with their original design over the years: Ettan and Göteborgs Rapé).
I like old cans better almost 100%. I'm indifferent on the Grov. I don't care much for the new, or old design. Some of the extinct brands look a little generic, but not terrible.

What the hell are half of the old brands I know ralarsnus used to be finish but what are stjarsnus, morkbrunt, karlskrona, svenkst export, and the light general loose, I assume light general portions is general white.

Oh and I like the old skurf cans a lot but the new ones look ok.

I'll keep buying it regardless of the can they put it in as it is my favorite los and I love the taste. It just looks like the Knox can now to me and that is their budget, value, economy or whatever you call it brand.

Like desirexe said above, the white Skruf can looks clean.

I don't take Skruf but always thought the cans and their branding was very cool. The new ones look good too, though.

Are there really going to be metal rings around the middle and sides of the lid? If so that's pretty darn sweet and the cans are a big improvement. I too like the strength meter.
