Guys I see where you're coming from but for snus to get to where we want it to be we have to support Altria with these products if they're decent and show these business owners that snus will sell. I'm not saying make it your everyday brand but support the cause you know? I don't know if this stuff is okay because I haven't had any but if it is I will be a regular customer.

Altria would interpret a spike in sales as an indication that we like what they're making, they would have no reason to make a quality product then.

True. But RJR would have a reason to go back to the lab and improve Camel to one up Altria. It's a snus war that we're seeing force American snus to get better and evolve.

Hmmm...after I switched from camel mellow snus to an all Swedish diet I swore that I would never go back to any american snus, but this thread has sparked my interest in the new Marlboro and skoal snus. I'm sorry if this was already asked and I missed it, but are the Marlboro and snus stored in a fridge? If they are I think i might just have to pick up a few tins...if not then i'm going to just pass, i don't think i could bring myself to buy unrefrigerated snus.

I want to try these and the increase in size, moisture and taste makes me anxious. I'm still worried about the contents, but doesn't mean I can't try 'em. :P

Damn...I just love putting in the first cold snus after I pick up some general. I might break down and get some when my current stash runs out though. Skoal snus just sounds so interesting and Marlboro was my go to smokes when i was smoking...I think my curiosity might win out on this one...hope this isnt a case or curiosity killed the cat

I completely disagree bro. I will never support Altria, or RJR because they've been lying their asses off to their consumers for god knows how many decades. The fact that their trying to produce a "healthier" product now is complete garbage IMO. It's only to recoup lost revenues in the cigarette category So their trying to make it up in the smokeless category, by producing a ridiculously inferior product.

They are trying to reinvent the wheel, and they've done a piss poor job thus far. All that being said, I'm biased of course...because I'm working my ass off trying to get real Swedish snus to kick off here in the U.S. It's going to take each and every one of us, that know what real snus is, to make it happen though...not just me pimping it to every retailer nationwide. *breathe* lol

hmmm... I didn't really think about it that way, I think my next trip to speedway might involve general AND skoal snus...please forgive me for including those two in the same sentence, I already feel a little guilty about it.

Well dudes I tried both today and put em in the box pass for those who have yet to find em. Over original Marlboro suns they arent bad. Original tastes like camel robust, a little less sweet though. Nic hit was alright, I'd have to try again to be sure. Oh and these portions are friggin huge btw. Mint was very camel frost like, but extremely sweet. Alright, but I refer the Swedish stuff

I go every week or two - and it's always empty and the clerks are watching tv in the back.
I am of the opinion that if a store is carrying Swedish snus, and the snus they have is expired then the salesperson that sold them, probably sold them too much or hasn't done his job in helping that retailer educate his employees and customers and in turn move his product. You know as well as I do that you can't just set a box of Swedish snus on the counter and expect some part time employee, who doesn't even know what snus is, to educate customers about what snus really is.

What I try to do when we get a new retailer is to teach them and their key employees about snus, so that they can teach everyone else. I even have retailers that call me and ask me questions about Swedish Match products...and I didn't even sell them those brands of snus. I really believe that has been a problem for Swedish Match, the unwillingness of their salespeople to teach about snus...hell most (and I've run into many) of these SM sales guys don't know themselves. We all know that snus can't/won't be mainstream in the U.S. until we can educate enough people.

Oh, and gimme the names of those tobacco stores...lmao

Camel Robust? Why would they want to rip that garbage off when the flavor they had for rich was awesome?

wow i totally agree with that.. i have been buying general from speedway since black Friday, I went out shopping with my girl(worst night ever) and I stopped to get gas and i saw a general sign in the window! It was my first sweedish snus and I chain snused half the tin haha, but back to my main point. It would be nice to walk in and not have my request for general met with blank stares and then go through 5 min of telling the clerk that I want the one on the bottom row, 1st one on the left just so he/she can find my general wintergreen.

I picked up some Skoal mint earlier today. It's not bad.
Didn't notice much nicotine, but I wasn't really craving it at the time either.
Tastes like spearmint at first, once it gets going, it juices up and the mint comes through, and a little bit of peppery tobacco but not much, just enough to tingle my throat.
The portion was big, and soft, fairly comfortable, when it's sitting right.
It's sweet, no doubt, but not Camel sweet. I don't think a dipper would dig it, cause you would need 4 of them to calm ya down like a big lipper.
All in all, it doesn't suck.
As far as TSNA and safer.. Whatever. The shits gonna rot your face off and you know it.
                              P.S. I paid 3.20$ for the can.

I have to say, although I am probably late, my store just got it yesterday. We got the new Marlboro snus on Monday morning. The camel snus comes in mint and spearmint, and at $2.59 a can, its a bit cheaper than camel, $2.99 a can.

The smooth mint (spearmimt) is amazing. It starts with strong flavor comparable to Marlboro spearmimt, but doesn't fade. It's not as dry as camel snus either. And much bigger than Marlboro snus. I love it.
