Holy crap... Phillip Morris may just mean business. I can not believe this. "Lots of juice" scares me though. If it's heavily sweetened that juice will make me sick.

I don't trust any American's opinion unless they came from this forum, and maybe not even then :^D I'll wait until someone here reviews it.

I've got both Marlboro and both Skoal en route to me right now, so I'll surely share what I think when they arrive.

Remember when 1847 was pulled from the market and Swedish Match said "new projects were right around the corner" with Phillip Morris? Is there any way possible, please God, that PM consulted Swedish Match on this revised product for us?

That's an interesting thought. I'd be immediately more interested if I knew Swedish Match had a hand in this, even if it was just consultation.

I had an interesting comment on my YouTube video about the new marlboro stuff.

"Just stumbled across this vid looking for info on the new Marlboro snus. I saw them in the store earlier today and decided to try it out. It actually isnt the same snus as the previous "cardboard" snus they had in the 6 pouch packs. Its much softer and moist. Its also bigger than the original, around the size of the Camel Snus Wintergreen pouches. No more cutting your gums to pieces trying to use a snus"

Apparently the lady at Altria that I spoke with wasn't informed about the product if the portions themselves have actually changed. Now I'm curious what's truly in those cans.

Well, just for the hell of it, I picked up a can of the new Marlboro Mint. First impressions...

The portions are rather large...definitely wider than a white portion and about the same length. The material is actually pretty soft and there is, wait for it...a decent amount of moisture in the tobacco. Initial taste impression...Wrigley's Spearmint Gum. Almost identical to it. The sweetness is definitely there...though not overpowering. I've had the portion in for about 10 minutes. No discernible tobacco notes coming through as of yet. A little disappointing, but I'd say it's a step in the right direction for American snus.

Oh wow, those portions are hefty.

They are large...but, my crappy cell phone camera makes them look a little bigger than they really are. They actually have a decent mouth feel.

I think we have a real winner with these new Marlboros and Skoals. If the Red is like Rich but less sweetness and a decent level of nic I believe for the first time ever I'll be buying a roll of American snus.

The cans are god ugly generic though. I have a good feeling Swedish Match did indeed play a role in these.

The thing to keep in mind is that we don't know what is in these products, we don't know how they're made, and by definition they aren't safer. Readily available doesn't make a safer product or a harm reduced alternative. That's important to note, otherwise I'd be doing dip or Skoal Bandits. Sure it's something like snus, but it's not snus, and it isn't Swedish. I don't care if it's free, I'd rather go through hell with PACT, taxes, and issues to get my snus than have to risk my health to get something that's easily available to me.

I agree 100%, Chad. I just popped in a General Mint portion and the difference is night and day.
