One concern I have, is people won't know what real snus is with the American brands on the market. What if I told you Coke was beer, and all you had was Coke beer for a couple years. You then find Guinness beer somewhere, what are you gonna think of that? It's bitter, not sweet at all, and tastes nothing like the Coke beer you've been enjoying the last couple of years. Guinness, the obviously superior product would hardly have a chance with that kind of setup.
New Skoal snus and new Marb snus has appeared at my gas station!

4th portion into this can of Marlboro Mint and I'm ready to pitch it in the trash. Aside from the decent mouth feel, there really is nothing redeeming about this snus. If it even remotely satisfied my nic cravings, I'd consider finishing the can. As it is, I have a roll of General Mint in the fridge calling my name. Definitely not worth $4 a can...and that's an intro price, I'm sure.

Portion Size - way too damn big. Maxi pad size like the new Camel Snus.
Moisture content - Upon doing a cut test, moisture content looks to be around 30% or slightly less, still very dry and looks like Camel Snus or even cigarette tobacco for that matter.
Aroma - Mint smells like spearmint gum, Original smells musty and sweet.
Taste - Original tastes like Camel Robust, overly sweet, and you'd figure for something called "Original" you would taste tobacco, but no. Not even a hint. No salt either. Mint tastes like spearmint, and again - overly, sickingly sweet.
Nic Hit - None to speak of. Both portions I could keep in about 30 minutes until the overly sweet flavor made me sick. The nicotine hit never came. So I'm assuming it's still very low, as with their other portions.
The can design, however, is very neat, but covered with warning labels, but that's to be assumed.

Budwieser is still the number one beer in America for that reason.
But it's the way you look at it. It's a different style of beer.
Bud, Miller, Coors, it's good at what it does, for the style of beer that it is.
I enjoy chugging a few ice cold Bud on a hot summer day, after mowing the yard.
But normally, at night, or weekends, I enjoy a German/Belgian style lager, usually anything in a green bottle.
Slightly skunky, bold flavor. Neither one is a better beer really, just different.
Now if we can get those different styles of snus on the shelves, so we can pick our poison for the day, like we do with beer, that would be great..

The pouchs dwarf the size of General snus in comparison, even though all 3 sachets contain approximately the same amount of tobacco. The new Marlboro snus has a very low moisture content, while Skoal snus has a bit more (about the same as Camel Robust/Wintergreen). I haven't tried any of them yet, but I will post a brief review when I muster up the courage to try them.
Also, Philip Morris might as well have called Marlboro Original snus "Marlboro Robust", since it smells identical to Camel Robust snus.

Here are my brief reviews of each one:
Marlboro Original Snus:
The pouch material is very dry and resembles paper. The tobacco itself is also very dry; it resembles rodent feces and cigarette tobacco. Marlboro Original is just a clone of Camel Robust, so I would recommend staying away from it, even when the $2.50 introductory price is taken into account; save your money and spend it on half a can of General snus instead.
Rating: 1/10
Skoal Mint Snus:
If you like mint flavored tobacco, you may enjoy this one. The pouch material is much softer compared to the new Marlboro snus, so it's pretty comfortable when sitting in upper lip. Nicotine wise, it is definitely stronger than the new Marlboro snus; I would compare the strength to a standard portion of Swedish snus. However, the tobacco is fairly dry and resembles rodent feces and expired dip tobacco. Despite this, the new Skoal snus is relatively decent in comparison to other American snus products, although I will be spending my hard-earned money on General snus at the gas station down the street.
Rating: 6/10

It looks like the shelf life is 5 months or so. This can has a "Sell By" date of May 7, 2011 printed on the bottom.
