Tom...I'd say they're roughly the size of a Bandit, but definitely smaller than a typical American snuff pouch.
New Skoal snus and new Marb snus has appeared at my gas station!

Long time lurker, first time poster...
Anywho--my local gas station just got the two new Skoal snus products. I picked up a can of both, but so far have only opened the Smooth Mint...my observations thus far:
*Skoal dip users probably know what to expect flavor-wise. The Smooth Mint is not unlike Skoal Spearmint dip. However, unlike dip or Swedish snus, there is almost no underlying tobacco flavor or saltiness that I can detect, even after the intensity of the mint mellows out.
*The smooth mint tastes a lot like spearmint gum. Not unpleasant at all. After about thirty minutes, the flavor lessens in intensity.
*My go to brand is General original portion. I can't say for sure until I total the whole Skoal can, but my gut feeling is that the Skoal and General original are somewhat close nicotine-wise.
*ooo, tingles
*Having in front of me both a Skoal Snus portion, and a Skoal Wintergreen dip pouch, I can confirm that they *appear* to share the same pouch. Makes sense from a manufacturing perspective, though it means the Skoal snus pouches are much bigger than other brands.
*That being said, the Skoal snus pouches are really soft and comfy. Its no problem just shoving the thing up in your lip--its like a soft pillow. One of the most comfortable white portion I have ever used, American or otherwise. One of the reasons I use General Original is that General White is a little too rough on my gums.
*Another unusual observation--whereas the dip pouch lids are sealed by a paper sticker, the seal on the snus cans is like rubberized or pvc-like or something. Perhaps their answer to refrigeration...
This is an interesting product to me. As far as American snus goes, this is by far the most useable. To me, the Marlboro in the foil packs is intolerable, and Camel is for emergency purposes only. I could, however, see myself adding Skoal snus to my regular rotation. If nothing else, I will no longer panic if I run out of snus before my next order arrives. My only comment to the Skoal people would be mix up the flavor--right now you can have Skoal Snus in any flavor you want, so long as you want mint...lame. I like mint, but I can't use it all the time--just try drinking a beer while using a mint snus...yuck! How about an American company with the balls to create a tobacco/natural flavored snus? After all, every maker of dip has a "natural" flavor that is completely devoid of any sweetness. I am honestly surprised that Altira hasn't attempted Copenhagen Snus yet...
