    purified

I admit to being somewhat dumb but I don't understand just what "purified" snus is. Can you all enlighten me?

    Thanks

I'm not sure myself tbh. I translate "purified" to ultra low TSNA content, and reduced tobacco flavor. I have no idea what the actual process is.

I'm not sure either but there is some stuff in those pouches besides the normal snus. I can see white stuff in there maybe that's part of the purified process or not There is also some added ingredients on the list on the back of the package

Surely the white "stuff" must be purified fiberglass.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Or baby powder. The one time I tried purified it scared me, I was constantly wondering what it was since it was not at all snus-like

I like the purified wise/oomph/northerner portions I think it is mainly gimmick but for a small dry mini they pack a punch and taste good the white stuff in the cans I think is baking soda. had the 6 mg menthol citrus in my stock for the past two years has not killed me yet so I would not worry about it.

                  lol

it's not baking soda nor fiber glass

                  it's salt

usually it's a sparkling thing ... never seen anything white in snus or any dip

Yes it's baking soda here is the content list for The Purified Portion of Northerner Boost from Northerner... The baking soda is used for the PH and it also delivers the nicotine faster than a regular snus portion....

                    Contents: Guarana
                    Absolutely Purified Tobacco
                    Taurine 50 Mg
Caffeine 20 Mg (a Cope Of Coffee Contains 60 To 80 Mg)
                    Sweetners: Maltitol E966
                    Xylitol E967
                    AcesulfamK E951
                    Fillers: Avicel, Vegetable Fibers E460
                    Softener: Glycerol E422
PH Regulating Agent: Baking Soda E500
                    Type: Strong
                    Vitalizing
High And Fast Absorption Of Nicotine

The way the description reads leads me to beleive that purified means that since there is no moisture added and that the tobacco is air dried and pulverized is what makes it a purified portion....

Dry type means that the snus inside the portions is, well, dry. It’s more like a powdered tobacco but, no need to fear, the snus is still made in the Swedish tradition just air dried and pulverized. Since there is no moisture, the material is dry as well. there’s about 1% moisture which makes the snus its self a powder.

The kick from these seems greater than the listed 6mg's...

They're so discreet that you forget you have them in ... even double-barreled.
I've been known to eat a meal and forget about them entirely...
                          and seldom any after-meal cravings!!

                          Talk about a BOOST!!!

I have been using these little purified portions at work lately and I love them. No salt irritation, and the added xylitol sweetener is actually good for your teeth.
