Looking for a new snus portion.

Well, where do I start? From the beginning and I will make it short. Started out as a los guy. Switched to portions due to the wonderful convenience. Favorites a few years ago was Retro and Knox. Both were of good strength and flavor, traditional with bergamot. Both were quite moist so I could get the juices to drop down if I wanted to get a good nic hit. Both went well with coffee and beer. Now I am lost since Retro is gone and Knox is way too dry when I last ordered it (is it still quite dry?). So what would be a good replacement? I tried LD, but the flavor did not last nearly as long and why is not sold to the U.S. anymore? Glad I kept all of my cans that did not have death stickers all over them like they do now. What else is there that is not overly expensive that will meet my needs? Would Offroad original, Skruf, or Taboca be good replacements? I think I have tried Taboca and was not impressed. Is Knox now more moist....has it gone back to being as good as it used to be?

I'd try one or two cans of tre ankre, general original and/or white, jakobsons classic and classic strong, Skurf, and maybe goteborgs rape. Some of these aren't strong bergamont flavors but I like all of them. Personally found knox original dry but pretty good for the price. Taboca loose I didn't like but haven't tried the portions.

The fact is I will not be trying a few at a time due to cost, but I can manage going through cans that are not perfect but are close to what I want. I am not finicky. Hell, I would enjoy a very moist bag that has flavor that will last a long time. I love General Mint portions and enjoyed their wintergreen almost as much but they are different animals. Their flavor lasts a long time, does not have the quick nic hit, and does not go with beer or coffee at all. So is there a juicy, long-lasting, traditional flavored snus out there? Maybe you have given me the solution already, but I would like descriptions so I can eventually decide. One snus that I really liked as los was Ettan, but I think that it's flavors are so subtle that I would not enjoy them as a portion. Thank you for commenting and I will keep in mind your choices. Hopefully others will comment to help me make a decision. By the way, I no longer go for sterk because I had a heart attack due to a blood clot. I would rather stay away from sterk at this time until I can get my heart up to its original strength. Before you start slapping me silly with "why are you still using snus?" I would like to state that it was not tobacco that caused the problem and that I have improved a great deal since this bullshit occurred. Also, I do not snus a lot, my max is about 6 a day. Thank you all for your comments. I truly miss Retro because it really matched everything that I ever wanted in a snus.

I agree with jwalker, I would go with general original or with goteborgs rape #2...
general original I found had a great flavor and gave me a decent amount of juice. the flavor lasted pretty well too.
Goteborgs Rape #2 has an amazing flavor, one of my favorites but its a white portion so its a little dry to me.

Got #2 has very complex, enjoyable flavors, but it is too damn expensive. Besides, it does not fit in with my "every day" beer and coffee snus. Now General Original I have not tried or I do not remember it well. I am going to say that I have not tried it because it was a premium brand that ....well I already found Retro and Knox, why buy an expensive premium brand?

Jakobssons classic, and Gotland gul are both bergamot, and strongly flavored. They're somewhat on the dry side ime. Somewhere between a white and regular portion. I also like Grov. That works very well as a portion, and has a good flavor.

You couldn't be more wrong... Ettan Portion flavor is more complex and has way more flavor than in Los... The portion has a chocolate/nutty/Straight tobacco flavor and juices nicely... You may want to give it a go because they are miles apart between Los and Portion.... IMO There is nothing subtle about Ettan Portion.

Offroad Original is not dry at all, cheap, and tastes decent.

Hmmm, what to do...what to do..Well, I think Ettan portion may be the ticket. I remember the nutty, chocolate flavor after having it in for a while and letting the los slowly slide down a little at a time. The portion is less expensive at buysnus than grov or general. The offroad original is definitely reasonable priced. Is it truly worth my while? If it tastes like Phantom I don't want it. Phantom tasted like pepper, windex, and well....reminded me of what an armpit smells like.

Ettan's really your best bet, man. I wouldn't bother with OffRoad to be honest.

Yeah, Ettan will do you proud. I'd go with the OP rather than the WP but as it's been stated, los rules Ettan for me too.

                      General will be more lemony.
Grov will be a bit more robust
Have you tried Granit? It's been three years since I had it but I liked Retro too and I remember them to be similar.
I'm surprised Knox was dry. I've ordered some last summer and it was good for me. You can always hydrate them a little too. I liked it better than Skruf even though I believe it's Skruf's lower cost brand. To me Skruf has too much of that rose oil in it.
I think you'll dig on Roda Lacket too but again, Los is the best version and the only other one to choose from is a white.
