I have been here since i started working with snus Januari 2008.
to have a forum like this and actually be in contact directly with the custumers is unique.

As a sayd before we are a very small snusmanufacturing company, and for us to sell a brand with lost is not sustainable.
The Gotlandssnus Gul loose & portion was a lost for us therefore the closure of the flavor. Nothing else.

Our way to go for the US-Market is a way for us to acculy make our brand seen.
In Sweden the market is owned by SWM (85%) & Fiedler & lundgren (10%) [other manufaturers fight of 5%]
Swm has set a standard in Sweden that snus are a must storage at 8dgC, and has placed fridges in all the retailers in Sweden.
This make it very hard for us to get market share in Sweden.

In the US it´s much easier to get in to the retailers since we dont need a fridge. (SWM is going to do this in US as well "fridges")
in Sweden it´s sell´s about 220 million cans per year and in the us about 1 billion cans smokeless per year.

In Sweden the costumers are very conservative for new brands and dont even want to try new brands. this is not the same in the US.

    hope you get some answers.
This is a very interesting insight into the snus market and makes sense of the strategies being employed. I also love Gotlands Gul and am sad to see it go. Maybe it can come back every now and again as a special edition, even as a subscription, edition so that the customers take the financial strain. I would happily pay in advance for a bulk order of gul once a year.

Well its officially over for Gotlandssnus yellow, portion and los. It looks like the two big online shops and their affiliates are completely sold out.

        that didn't take long
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I shed a small tear last night because of this.

Where the f*** am I going to put it all? I'm going to have to turn the shed in to a refrigerated warehouse
