Would You Pay More For Lös? If So, How Much?

Lös apparently isn't a great seller, and the manufacturers don't make as much money from it due to taxes. That's big reason we don't see many new lös choices being released. If it came down to it, would you pay more to continue getting lös snus?

For the sake of the question, we'll assume a tin of portions is 24g, and sold at 3 USD. We'll assume the lös is 50g, and sold at the same price. How much more would you pay? I think I'd go as high as $6 per tin. You get twice as much snus, and the experience is superior to portions.

I like it as it is now with the solid staple brands but would like the main players to possibly produce some smaller batches of new flavors and they could charge a little higher for doing so. A way scaled down in price idea similar to the Kardus thing going on.

If the flavor is profitable then it go in for larger production and become a staple.

Never used los, so forgive my ignorance, but do people tend to pinch around a gram, and thus a can will last twice as long as a can of portion?

I don't think it should be more expensive, though. If you don't want modern conveniences like portions, then you should get more for your money.

Lös is more expensive. Just now at the store I payed 7.41$. Ridiculously expensive, but the store is pretty expensive when it comes to snus, and I can get it cheaper, but still!

I think it's worth it though. 45 grams of goodness. But I don't think I would pay much more than I did today.

I use about 1g each time, maybe a touch more, so a tin would last about twice as long.

How does that compare with portions from the same shop? The web stores sell them for virtually the same price as portions(to the USA). Sometimes a touch more or less, but close enough to the same price.

i was about to say, the shop here sells all of the general stuff for right around the same price which would make the mini portion stuff the most expensive/gram unless my math went horrifically wrong due to nicotine overdose/coma.

Just did a quick comparison between Gen OP and Gen Los, for the EU.

1 can of OP - before all taxes and shipping - £2.72
                  - after all taxes and shipping - £6.82

1 can of Los - before all taxes and shipping - £2.66
                  - after all taxes and shipping - £7.61

That's bloody good value if it lasts twice as long.

Hell, I think I need to try me some los!

Everyone should try it at least once, just for the experience. At 45g(they lightened the tins a couple years ago) it won't be exactly twice as much, but it's still a good bit more. Personally, I prefer the lös experience, might even pay more than the stated $6 per tin. Maybe not for a sustained time, but it's hard to say. I use a bit more than 1 tin of lös per week. Even at $7 a tin, that isn't bad. Just a bit more than $1 per day.

About 5.40$ for portions. I'm using this conversion tool: http://coinmill.com/SEK_USD.html I think it tells the current rates.

I can buy lös for around 5$ and a can of portion for 4.32$ though. It's still quite expensive though, but here in Sweden it is very, very cheap. Lös is almost a dollar more expensive though depending on what brand you buy.

Right, you've convinced me. I've just ordered a can of Roda Lacket loose. I'll report back on breaking my los cherry later this week!

i hope i am right in saying you won't regret it. RL los is a great snus with a very unique flavor even from the portion in my opinion. the grind is a little on the fine side for what i normally use but other than that gl

Röda has a good flavor. It's super easy to bake, but it'll likely break apart quicker do to the very fine grind. You may have some issues tasting it also. It has a huge flavor to me now, but when I started it was fairly muted. It's a good first lös do to the easy baking :^)

What sucks about all the snus prices are the egregious taxes on it. There's no reason a 50g tin of lös should cost more than $2, all taxes included. Tobacco users have no obligation to support the rest of society, and to require them to do so is unethical, and an abuse of power.

Good to hear. I only chose that one because I dreamt about it last night

Yup. Governments know they're onto a good thing, because no matter how much they keep increasing the taxes, us addicted folks keep paying them. It's why they'll never make cigarettes illegal - too big a money earner. If cigs were invented today, they'd be banned immediately.
