    UPS can lick my testes

sorry, must rant here... so i have my snus order incoming, it is due to be delivered tomorrow. now i pay UPS's horrific shipping charges for my snus. due to the fact that i will be gone for most of the day tomorrow i called them to see if i could pick up my package at the customer center in which it would have to be shipped to for delivery to my house, which happens to be about 5 minutes from where i will be tomorrow, saving me the hassle of trying to time everything around the chance of it getting here and saving the driver/company the time and gas of driving to my house... they have their money. you would think they would be ok with this yet they insist that i cannot do this and that they must have a failed delivery attempt before they will allow me to pick it up. how does this make any sense at all, or am i just missing something and being unreasonable?

They would do that in Norway. Another thing they do here, is that if they try to deliver and you are not around, they leave a note and tales it to the local post office.

I'd say it's an inefficient UPS operation. Normally the packages are loaded on the trucks @ 4:30AM and the trucks leave about 8:30 (earlier on Mondays). If the driver cannot deliver the package it usually stays on the truck overnight for another attempt. After several attempts it goes back in the building to be processed by someone else. The guy that loads the truck probably doesn't have time to find the package but there could easily be a not left for the driver to return the package to the customer office before they leave. Actually, the pre-load supervisor should pull it himself when the truck is loaded. The bad thing is that some of the depots have terrible dicks working there that have a bad union mentality that they aren't going to do anything outside of SOP.

Should be pretty easy to take care of a customer though, I agree.

Its the law in America that tobacco products have to be signed for by a verified over 18 yr old at the address it was it was sent to. So dont blame UPS blame 'The War Against Terrorism'. This was one of the reasons stated by your government for bringing the PACT act.

You have to be 21 to sign for tobacco products in the US due to PACT act requirements. Sorry mate ( :

UPS is delivering a package for me tomorrow and I have to work. I simply called the UPS station in my town, gave them my phone #, name, and address - they said they would keep it there instead of delivering it and I can pick it up after work. This is how I do most of my deliveries since I'm heardly home during the day.

i tried that chad, they told me they would not hold it unless there was a failed delivery attempt. and i have no problem with signing for it snusify, it is an issue that UPS already has my money and they will not hold the package to let me pick it up at the hub and sign for it. actually saving bothg me AND them hassle. as a matter of fact not once did i complain in my posting about having to sign for the package...

I'm not sure why they need to make one delivery attempt before holding the package. It was that way 30 years ago.

I'm guessing it's a contract thing. You don't have a contract with UPS, the shipper has the contract with UPS. Once they have attempted delivery they have fufilled their contract with the shipper. If UPS holds the package without making a delivery attempt and they end up returning the package to the shipper and the shipper complains they can rightfully charge back the shipping charges. I could be wrong, it's just a guess.

i would say that was a good guess, just wish they would be a little more willing to work with people on matters like this considering the cost of ups shipping . like i said this was mostly an "i need to vent because they are being inefficient" post.

if they come up with one more stupid reason to not deliver a package to me PP i just might get arrested for standing on the counter with the boys hanging out asking them to If thats the case copies of the mug shot will be $5, $6.50 for an autographed one.
