Swedish Match claims V2 snus is poor quality

According to SM, V2 snus contains too high levels of bacteria.
Also they demand V2 to withdraw their snus from the market.

I doesn´t say if it´s just a particular brand or all V2 snus.

I'd take that with a grain of salt, without providing supporting data. V2 is a big competitor in the USA, and I think they're doing well in countries other than Sweden. I would be interested in seeing specifics though.

To Hell with Swedish Match if they want to start playing ball like that. JTI and F&L are pushing out superior products in Sweden and if not for SM's distribution stranglehold and all of the brand loyal people over there Swedish Match would be screwed. Aside from a few good brands like N&J I think SM peddles overpriced junk.

I just looked at V2's sight before reading this since I was wondering if it was the same quality since it is manufactured outside of Sweden. The sight had specific levels of everything it contained including some things that I have never seen published like arsenic and lead so I am not sure if this is the case. However I do not trust tobacco companies so I would like to see how this plays out and if V2 answers this accusation. By the way was that 1 paragraph it or am I not clicking on the correct link?

The only problem I have with V2 is that no matter how many cans of Offroad frosted I open, there is always 2 portions ripped open spilling tobacco all over the damn place.

Must be the excess bacteria eating away at the portion material <tossing my 19 cans of Thunder Berry Blend quickly>

It probably has to do with the fact that V2 doesn't use the Gotiatek (SM patented) snus preparation method.

                        Maybe?

So I'm thinking, 'What kind of rag is dn.se ... a muckraker .. or what?'

Just to put this into perspective:
"Dagens Nyheter (help·info) (DN) (Swedish: lit. "news of the day") is a daily newspaper in Sweden. It has the largest circulation of Swedish morning newspapers, followed by Göteborgs-Posten and Svenska Dagbladet, and is the only morning newspaper that is distributed to subscribers across the whole country. In 2009 DN had a circulation of 316,000, reaching 881 000 people every day.[2] Opinion leaders often choose DN as the venue for publishing major opinion editorials. The stated position of the editorial page is "independently liberal".

It is published in Stockholm and aspires to full national and international coverage." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dagens_Nyheter
Maybe our Swedish friends can fill us in. Is sensationalism the order of the day with dn.se? Or are they considered reputable? (I'm more familiar with The Local - Sweden's news in English.)

                            +1

                            Supporting data is needed..

Naaah, I'm pretty sure that is just their patented method of steam pasteurization...every company is a little different, but all Swedish snus is steam pasteurized. There are minor variables, like temp, time etc. My guess is that SM is just beginning to take notice that V2 is beginning to get a foothold in the market, they aren't used to competition. Whatever...I still dig both company's snus
