Talking Points : Converting the dipper to snus

My little brother is graduating from basic training at Fort Benning Friday and I can't wait to see him. He quit smoking when he joined and soon turned to dip for his source of nicotine. I love snus and want to attempt to convert him. I am taking a can of General Sterk White to give to him in hopes it changes his views. I know some of yall dip or whatnot and thats cool, its you. But I honestly see dipping American dip as nasty.

I know the differences in the process of manufacturing between snus and dip, but what else should I cover?

The lack of needing to spit. More than likely in AIT he will not be allowed to chew and the penalty if caught is ussually 45 days extra duty and loss of pay. With snus his superiors will never know hes riding the nic gravy train.

Not having to spit is a good selling point, then there are the health benefits of switching, like avoiding oral cancer, white leathery patches, rotting teeth, ect.. and snus smells ALOT better than dip, wont give you bad breath and can be hidden alot easier, girls are less likely to find it disgusting.
Be sure to tell him that snus is pastuerized and it lists the ingredients on the can.

Dip tends to have lower nic than snus, so starting him on sterk *might* not be a good idea if he gets sick from a nic overdose, depends on his habit, though he might like the higher nic.

If the guy just finished military training he's not a dummy. If it's presented to him logically and easily then he'll probably be more open to it.

I've found rattling off benefits and stuff often doesn't get the best results. Maybe the people feel that I'm trying to ram it down their throats or something but you can simply state the facts and be purposefully brief. Tell him to do his own research but you will tell him if he asks you. This way it's his choice to ask and listen rather than try to think of a rebuttal while listening. The biggest difference on the surface is that there is quite a bit less flavor, IMO. Dip floods your mouth with juice and snus doesn't. I didn't know General made a sterk white but at any rate I'd go with a OP first if you have that ability. Something more moist would feel more natural to him. While the nicotine in that pouch might punch him in the face he's probably gotten used to the whole package when it comes to dip. I suggest something like N&J or even General OP. Thunder is pretty flavorful too..then you could always go with los. Don't let him lower deck it though...it won't be what he's expecting.

          Good luck.

Jakobsson Wintergreen. That is what finally pulled my brother in law over to the Dark Sid...I mean snus.

              "Try this, it tastes good"
"I like snus better than dip cause it doesn't suck"
              "Chick don't dig spitting"
"snus can be used on the go, with minimal hassle"

I pretty much discovered snus on my own, used to smoke, quit after a few years and started chewing, never liked dip at all, just the smell alone turned me off to it, never mind when I tried it. My cheeks and gums would get sore after chewing all day so I started looking around, found camel and used it on and off between chew. Not too long after I spotted a general snus fridge at my favorite baccy shop and bought a can, loved it so much I switched over full time, ended up doing research online and the rest is history.

A friend of mine was a dipper, I eventually got him to snus, but he will only use los, says he doesnt like the way the portion feels. Once he learned how to properly make a pris he made the switch permanently. So your bro may like los more, so long as he doesnt try to dip it.

                  Safer.
                  Tastes better.
                  More discreet.
Dip is hugely popular within the armed forces--having to spit and such can be dangerous in action.

Give him Jax Wintergreen, it's the closest thing to american dip flavored.

Yeah the Jak's wg and mint are good, jak's mint is better than mint dip but the wg isn't as good as grizzly at least in flavor. Make sure he understands you don't have to spit my buddy still doesn't that and his using his car ashtray as a snustray have made it possible for him to turn snus into a nasty habit.
