    Granit, unflavored?

Somewhere... (Buysnus) I got the idea that Granit contained "the pure taste of tobacco" but it's got bergamot in it. A nice suprise though. It really dries out my mouth.

Anyway, since these descriptions can be faulty, which one of all these brands is actually "pure tobacco"?

The only snus I've had that's truly unflavored is Kardus. The closest I've had otherwise is Knox lös I think. There's flavor there, but it's very subtle, and the main flavor I get is tobacco. Here's a list of some that have flavor, but seem almost like a fortified tobacco taste, as opposed to something foreign.

    Ettan
    Grov
    Landströms
    Gellivare
    LD Guld

Of the above I have had ettan, gellivare, and Landstroms and agree. With ettan I can tast a sort of pruny, vegatative background taste that I guess is the flavor of the tobacco. The smoke flavor in ettan is subtle. With gellivare there is a hint of rose or citrus, again subtle and hard to nail down. I can't detect any flavorings at all in landstroms, great stuff though. My 3 favorite current snuses appear in the above list, guess I will have to try ld guld and grov.

I think Landstroms has bergamot in it and Grov has a bit of a tart taste to it.

the most tobacco-only taste I think is Ettan, however it is still flavored.
I'm curious what a truly tobacco-only snus tastes like, because Ettan fills what my perception is, yet I know it's still got added flavor.
Knox to me tastes much like typical redman/levi garret chew or something, it has that rich sweet taste. Skruf follows in that same regard. I don't find them to be 'true' tobacco taste even though they're extremely familiar in regards to other flavored tobaccos such as american chew.

The only unflavored tobacco, that I've ever tried, was a German chewing tobacco in the form of a snail-shell, called "Marschallschnecke". It had an interesting natural taste, but required some spitting. There are some similar brands in the U.K. and the U.S. AFAIK.

I guess that snus always has at least some soda-taste. I agree, that Ettan is the best brand, when it comes to a natural (almost unflavored) tobacco-taste.

          Cheers!
