Mud Jug for snus

I recently picked up a Mud Jug to put my discarded snus portions. Thought I'd share my thoughts on it.

Catch lids, paper cups, and coke cans are SO last year. Alright, let's talk Mud Jug. I've heard about them quite a bit from the dip community on YouTube, and I know tons of people that have them. In case you haven't heard of them, a Mud Jug is a portable spittoon, but totally classy. It's got a lid, and is very discreet unlike the popular Mountain Dew bottle full of brown liquid. I dunno if you're like me, but I rarely use my snus catch lid. I do have a coke can in the car that I put my used portions in, and a paper cup on my end table that I use when I'm at home. I know, I could just walk to the trash can every time I discard a portion, but that isn't convenient all the time, so I stick with the paper cup and coke can. I decided to check out MudJug and see if it'd be a solution to this little non-discreet way of discarding my snus.


You can see a Mud Jug looks much more discreet on the coffee table. To use it, you'll have to treat it differently than a dipper would. The top is a little funnel with a small hole (not big enough to put a portion in), so to put a portion in I simply pop the lid off, drop it in, put the lid back on. Very discreet, no one can see what's in it, and it saves me the paper cups and coke cans. I think it's pretty cool, and definitely works from a snuser's point of view. Pro tip... Saw bit off the bottom of the funnel, and portions will fit in. I used the saw in my knife, but a hacksaw would probably work best.

Yep, just sawed off about a half inch of the inside and it fits. Great!

I think so. I put mine in various places. Some go in paper recycle, some in my slop bucket for the compost pile, and some in the trash. I try to keep them out of the trash as much as possible, purely on principle.

I'd say they're biodegradable. I wouldn't see any use for keeping used portions around...they get all cold and just gross. Then that vessle would have to be cleaned. Besides, anywhere I'd keep that thing I'd have a bin nearby. That being said I do use the catch lid or I might put it in a beer bottle or something but lettin' em build up? Nah.

You don't just spit them out wherever you are at? I have made an art form out of getting a pris of los out while I am driving. It also helps solve any problems with drivers who might like to tailgate.

Yea, lös goes anywhere. I try to keep it out of walkways, but that's about it. If I happen to have a portion in, I try to put it under a bush or somewhere inconspicuous. Otherwise, I keep it in my mouth until I get to a trash can, or some other acceptable disposal place. On the highway I don't care. It'll be ground up before the day's over.

Basically, I try to minimize visible trash that would be offensive to people who could see it. It's like eating an apple while driving. I wait until I'm in a brushy area to ditch the core. It would be kind of lame to toss it on a city street, or in someone's front yard. I'm for disposing of it in the environment though. Put the nutrients in the ground where they belong, not in a clay lined pit :^)

Actually, I think you may be on to something, stuff enough down there and it would probably provide a nice secondary nic hit LOL
