    Snuff/Snus and cancer

I stumbled across an article earlier that made me laugh,

The side effects of smokeless tobacco
Nicotine is very, very addictive so intense many people will never quit in their lifetimes. In fact if you are thinking about switching over to smokeless tobacco think again! There is more nicotine in one dose of chewing tobacco than in a cigarette. Chewing tobacco in many cases is worse than cigarettes. It is thought to increase several different cancers.

Some of the possible cancers are

    Oral cancers
    Lung cancer
    Breast cancer
    Pancreatic cancer
Along with many other health risks.
how would ever be possible to get lung cancer from using snus?

the website isn't certified medically or anything........ just saying

well i have yet to know anyone who died from smokeless. ive known a couple who got jaw cancer. one was pretty bad and he chewed old leaf chaw for about 60 years. the other person had slight lip cancer and had it taken off in doc office after maybe 30 years of cope. on the other hand, i know several who not only died from smoking. they died slowly, painfully, expensively and hard on their families from smoking. I am sure its possible to get cancer from snus but i bet diet coke can do it too. anti tobacco folks need to stay with the facts and not try to scare. if a person told me it might be bad for me to use snus i would say, i know. but when they classify smokeless with cigs, and snus with dip and say they are all the same they lose me. the worst part is kids know up from down too. i can hear a 16 year old me (way back) say, well if snus is the same as cigs then i pick cigs. bunch of douche bags

snus is nothing compared to cigarettes, first of all it's all natural ... (that if I trust the badge on it that says ... water, salt.. .aroma bla bla) .........

Speaking out of my own experience cigarettes are the one and single mankind creation that I would compare to mass-destruction weapons, lol

Was reading some statistics yesterday..... in the U.S 600,000 people died last year alone from smoking related diseases, imagine in the whole world there's around 6 mil or even more...

and what's unbelievable the numbers show that "THE" most people die from smoking around the world.....

Breast cancer? I better start examining my man boobs once a month -- better safe than sorry.

Btw, smokeless tobacco causes lung cancer? It's probably all of that fiberglass in snus that gets inhaled into the lungs. I better switch back to cigarettes while I have the chance.

Using some health groups standard methodology I'm pretty sure that smokeless tobacco has a protective effect against breast cancer.

While this is sad, you are quite right and it is the reality of the situation.

My grandfather passed away only a few months back from smoking and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with in my life, especially since he was like a father I never had. Seeing him deteriorate over the past ~10 years slowly was extremely painful for my entire family. When all was said and done he had 3 major heart attacks, 1 minor, COPD, and lung cancer that had spread throughout his entire body.

He ended up quitting after he was hospitalized in the final stages of his lung cancer when he caught pneumonia. While this helped clear his COPD up and he ended up nearly beating the cancer after extensive chemo and radiation, his heart had simply taken too much damage and he ended up passing away. This was the biggest wake up call for me to stop smoking and I am glad I did.

Also glad I found this site and was able to stop so painlessly
