I need a snus encyclopedia to help me learn what is what. To many already exist for me to keep straight.
When I smoked all I had to say was Camel Light.
    Now I have such a variety I can't decide what I want.
That is a good thing though.

Of course 16mg is not too much for jag, he does 10 different kinds of snus a day. Unfortunately I will not take multiple kinds of snus to work, and I don't want more than 1 or 2 open cans at a time and can't chain snus 16mg. So therefore 16 is too much for me and if you read around, many others as well.

In answer to your question as to why they need to be in existance, its so I don't go back to smoking. They are the PERFECT size, they have the PERFECT nic content (for me) and I snus nothing else except the long+. I think the long+ portions are the best thing to ever hit the snus market. It made SNUS 200% better of an experience for me. I literally snus nothing else. Well, I try other thngs, but do not like them due to the regular sized portions, and/or the nic content.

Yes, we need MORE long+ not less. And I would LOVE a 12mg long+ Thunder C/V.

And yes, we need wintergreen in long+ as well, no matter what the mint haters say. They don't have to buy it. (That was said in jest, so no flaming me).
I would love to try the long or stark. But I think the original should stay. Its the only snus I use regularly for like 4 or more years. I'd die without the originals. seriously. I might even stop snusing. But I don't need a stark so I don't want to have a heavier monkey on my back. makes sense to me. The regulars may be good for new snusers or women that don't want a ton of nic. Then theres always the pus**ies like me. I try every brand/flavor that comes out. I give em a fair shake...but then they are headed to the exchange.

All I'm going to say is don't go around proclaiming that longs should be taken off the market because you don't like them. Many people do obviously if V2 is looking to expand the line, HENCE THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD. If they are as senseless as some of you think, don't worry, they won't sell and thus will be pulled from the market. But don't hold your breath waiting on it. Or do, your choice. Just stop being snobby just because YOU don't like long portions like the world revolves around you.

yes this thread is for longs but turned into a C/V thread somehow.

If your comment was directed at me....

I did mention in my other post that I would like you all to tell me why they are making snus in a long portion. Is there a difference other than shape? Does the shape make it more comfortable? I also mentioned that I haven't had any but would gladly try some. But, think about it. If you had a brand/flavor that you used almost exclusively for several years would you recommend that they be replaced with something different? Sorry if my post came over "snobby". Thats the interwebs for you. Its hard to get the real feeling of what one is trying to convey without being face to face.

again, keep the originals and yea I'd love to try the longs and starks. Its entirely possible that I might like them better. Either way I am estatic that V2 is making any C/V. I thank V2 for that.

Someone please explain the reason that longs are being made so I know.

              thanks

I would not like to see every Thunder in long format. 16mg of regular Thunder is not way too much for me. And I don't think I'm in the minority.... So... No Don't agree.
Nah, PP, this is the snobbery I referred to. Again, though, this guy probably 30 cans of snus open so doesn't know that chaining 16mg snus sucks and some people would like 12mg longs of the great Thunder flavors like original and Berry so they can enjoy them all day. I never said the 16 mg would be replaced...

And the longs are much more comfortable, more discreet, and a different nic level, hence the need for them

Phantom is the discount line, but it's just as good as Offroad. My impression of Thunder, is it's just a high octane Offroad. I don't think there's substantial differences in quality.
From what I understand and have been told before (Patrick can correct me if I'm wrong), but Thunder is a higher quality tobacco than Offroad. I've heard this from quite a few sources, but no one official has confirmed it. So that may be the difference.

I can only speak about General Long Sterk and Lab01 - but yes, to me the form fits much better in the lip - and the drip is less like a regular portion, slower, like a white portion. So, beyond the shape, which does make a difference (maybe just to me), the drip is different. The thing is, with some portions, like a Lucky Strike (Bold and White) or most Thunder, they can be a bit, hmmm, pancake-like, giant pillows. Not bad, mind you, just less discrete.

This is all my opinion though, fwiw.

Also, I am with Chad - my understanding is that Thunder is V2's highest quality tobacco - over Offroad and Phantom. But, maybe Patrick can jump on and tell us differently.Either way - bringing back a Coffee snus is something I know I am looking forward to.

Thanks for explaing ALL of that. Jags a good guy. Its probably that interwebs miscommunication thing again.

more comfortable. thats a big plus. The regular C/V are just that. regular.....and I'm used to them. Some of the new varieties of snus like the jagarpris are almost minis imo. They did seem to have that much tobacco in them. Not that the amount of tobacco has that much to do with the flavored snus. When I put the first Jag in it was like nothing in my lip. not a bad thing at all.

                      thanks for explaining.

Having tried a large number of v2 products recently I am sure all of their tobacco is of a high quality. The higher price on the thunder is most likely the packaging and a part of the marketing...the consumer will pay more for a higher nicotine content as there is a higher percieved value in the product.

I have no problem paying a higher price for some Thunder los as I know it will last longer for me and when I want a bigger nic kick without a giant Pris I can have that.

I would love to try a root beer flavored snus.

On the subject of longs (strong or otherwise), I would welcome more. I love the portion size and shape, and wish there were more of them. If SM started doing Ettan or Grov in long, I'd be a happy man.

If V2 were to introduce a straight up tobacco flavour regular long portion, it would probably win me over to them.

I got into longs when General Long Sterk came out. Felt odd at 1st but now normal size portions feel odd to me and longs more comforable. Guess it's what you get used to. Also find the longs don't create such a bulge under the lip.

                                ^ My feelings exactly.

They may not be for everyone but for those of us who don't
consider a bulging lip to be a pleasant thing to behold, they
are the closest thing to perfection. And, for me, they can be
an alternative to the double-barreled Northerners when I'm
                                out in public.

I don't consider a bulging lip to be a badge of distinction but
rather as a detraction and a turnoff to anyone who might be
                                considering snus.

And, your speech pattern changes since you tend to keep your
lip tightened-up to accommodate the snus: "I was wondering
why you're now talking funny." The problem is greatly resolved
by using a slim long portion at what might be critical times.

Can you hear me now, PP (and all you other naysayers)?
