Are these any good for a snus fridge?

Hi, i'm looking for a portable fridge for snus - would this type be any good? anyone use one already? how many would you think they could hold? do they cool the snus well enough to be effective? any help appreciated! :-)

That fridge looks good enough to hold at least 4 rolls i think.. maybe alot more. i used to have a smaller one i used for a few cans, but i didnt think it was worth the electricity. so i just use my regular fridge for thawing a can or two out while the rest is in the freezer.. somthing like that cooler would be really nice for camping trips though.

Your Welcome! Good luck on your journey over seas!

The mini fridge i was using holds nine soda cans laying down on there sides. It held about 18 cans of snus if my memory serves me corectly.

You mean traveling with the cooler? As in, checking it on a plane?

Yes - if i can find the right size... you think it would be a problem? diabetics sometimes use insulin fridges so i thought it may be alright.

good luck with that one. I suspect it would raise some eyebrows.

Most hotels have a fridge in the rooms. I put my snus in those. Looks like that one is for DC power though.

I have an office type water cooler in my house, the kind that use those big blue 5gal jugs. It has a fridge built in on the bottom, 2 shelves, holds alot of snus. I have 15 open cans in there, with room for a bunch more if I stack them.
I also have a mini beverage fridge, holds four cans of soda, so that would hold atleast two rolls worth, but I dont really use that one, except for the car if Im going somewhere far away.

Far as the plane travel, you'd be better off to put the snus in a lugage bag, not a carry on bag. Im sure someone will say something about a whole cooler packed full of snus. Not saying its illegal, just it would raise some questions.

Yeah I just think bringing refrigerated snus on an airplane, overseas, is vastly unnecessary and a bit silly. I'm not trying to be a dick, I just think you would regret it once the trip was underway. And going through customs with that thing would be a chore to explain, then hauling around would suck... but anyway, that is just me. I like to travel light, and like Wicked said, the refrigerators in hotel rooms suffice for keeping snus cold every once in a while. Out of curiosity, where will you be going and for how long?

Operates off 12Vdc car cigarette lighter. You could get a adapter that converts wall outlet to 12 volt. The thermoelectrics that I have had do not last very long with extended use.
For my personal use. No not needed.

For your use it may be worth trying. It won't be as good as going ahead and getting a dorm size frig for home use. would not be useful if you didn't have access to a 12volt plug in. They don't stay cool not plugged in.

Well the plan is to be in Asia for up to 6 months... when there before i didn't get a fridge in my room but i guess lugging a portable one across plus the snus could be more problematic than finding a, perhaps more expensive, room with a fridge.

Where in Asia? I love traveling throughout Asia so I'm just curious. Also wondering if it's feasible to get one when you get there. That would depend on where you're headed though and if you will be stationary or traveling all around. Anyway man if you're working for a company who is sending you abroad and footing the bill, I would recommend telling them you take a medication that needs to be refrigerated or some such thing -- or just tell them you want a refrigerator as part of your accommodations without lying/getting specific. Any unopened portion snus I would just leave at room temperature then keep the open cans cool in your room.

Thanks Roo, it could possibly be Nepal either this year or next but i'm trying to think ahead.

Hey Ansel it looks like if you have more than say 1 roll of snus you will have to answer to Customs in Nepal anyway. I have never been bothered by customs officials for snus, but I have also never brought more than 10 cans with me:

The following goods may be imported into Nepal without incurring customs duty:

                            • 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or equivalent of other tobacco articles.
                            • One 1L bottle of alcoholic beverage.
                            • A reasonable amount of perfume for personal use.

A roll certainly won't last six months. Can you get it shipped to you there?
