I try and be discrete at the moment and not sure how others will take to the idea. Can dating with snus work or should i get a stinky cigar out? lol

My wife doesn't mind it. Suckin' face with los is not acceptable though. I've tried and failed miserably. My mom and sister think it's worse than smoking and I can't get through to them. I even have an 88 year old grandmother that is so offended that every time she sees me with a cup of tea she asks me if I'm drinking tobacco juice.

Better yet, show them Oral Sex causes more Oral Cancer than Oral Tobacco...

Although, I don't think I'd show it to an 88 year old grandmother who just might stroke out!

My mother doesnt like the los at all, doesnt mind the portions though. She definitely dissaproves of nasal snuff, every time she sees me take it, she asks if Im enjoying my 'cocaine'. I had a real laugh when I broke out my dholakia white, was like "hey ma, finally got the good coke"

Never had a 'lady friend' complain, though I never let on that I used it, though a few times I got questioned about a weird taste in my mouth.

My lady doesn't seem to mind... She still smokes, though. The only thing she seems to raise an eye about is those new orders when there's still a good batch in the freezer. Her biggest gripe is probably my snus breath, but that can't be much worse from when I was smoking.

Even any sideways glances i get from family or co-workers don't seem all that harsh. I was one of those dudes who REALLY needed to do something about his smoking. Most of them look at ANY change as an improvement.

Actually, now that i think, she'll probably have a bit of a problem when the snow melts and there's a hundred spent portions in the snow bank right next to my car from spitting it out as I walk in the house every night... Cross that bridge when it comes haha...

At least they're biodegradable and you can tell her that nicotine
is an insecticide and could very well keep down the pest factor
                this summer.

If you want to get fancy...
How to Make a Nicotine Insecticide | eHow.com
"Nicotine, a toxic chemical most often associated with cigarettes, has been used as an insecticide since colonial times. One excellent benefit of using nicotine in your garden is that its effectiveness is short lived, but potent. You can kill the critters that damage your plants while saving the ones that protect them. Only a few hours after spraying, you can harvest and eat your vegetables."

My dad doesnt really care, he gives me crap about mouth cancer from time to time (apparantly the royal college of fisicians inst good enough proof) but other than that he doesn't do anything bc I'm 18 so he knows he can't do anything about it

Never been able to convert my girlfriend from the cigs to snus but she respects my decision to use snus rather than cigarettes.

Eh my parents aren't thrilled, they basically don't know the difference between dip and snus, especially since a lot of people still called dip snus when my mom was growing up. They were way more disturbed that I was smoking.

Neither my daughter, nor my cats care, and those are the only opinions I care about. My mother's uncertain, but she doesn't believe anything unless a talking head from TV tells her. Oh, my tom doesn't like me taking snuff. Something about the sound bothers him :^D

My wife and daughter are more relieved that I no longer smoke near as much so I think they're actually grateful that I snus. Have tried to get my cigarette-smoking son interested but only limited success. He'll ask for some snus when he has a long trip where he can't smoke but not more than that yet.

I won some people over to the idea of nasal snuff relatively easily, until i started sneezing in front of them. I find snus much more socially acceptable just because it is more discrete but i haven't mastered the art of talking with a portion in yet without mumbling.

You'll get used to it after a while. I was the same way at first when I was using a portion at work. I used mini's/long's and still felt as though everyone knew or could see it. I eventually got used to it, and talking with a portion in, and now I can go into work even with a regular portion in without worry. I think the snus has settled in the spot on my gums and is even more discrete from when I started as well, but I know as time went on I got more comfortable with it and was able to do anything with it in without worry. I was on the same boat though, especially when my boss was around I would try to hide it. Now it doesn't seem like a big deal at all.

Guess I am just worried that if anyone else knows about it at work they would try to specifically ban snus as well, grouping it with chewing tobacco/dip. I would like to tell my co-workers about it as many of them seem to be suffering greatly at the hand of smoking (especially the older ones) however I know if I were to tell anyone other than my very close friends at work, somehow the supervisors would find out and I would be forced to stop at work. For now I just tell them I quit smoking and leave it at that.

As for what my family thinks, most if not all of them see it as a good thing after I go through the differences between it and smoking, and explain how it is not dip.

I am curious though as to what everyone else s spouse thinks of snus, especially if they really notice a difference in things like hygiene. I've only stopped for 2 months as of yesterday and have not experienced how that whole schpeel would go.
