I ordered some of the Pioneer on a whim and must say that I am very impressed! This snus is Dark and rich and tastes like Montecristo, without the bitterness. The salt comes and goes but remains in the background. It reminds me of a really good shot of expresso, Rich and Dark. I cannot directly taste the citrus, only in the background fade. Tom502 review is spot on really. I am interested in what Tom thinks about this snus. To me it is what taking a good chaw of tobacco should taste like, Strong pure tobacco. I also give it a five out of five. Its damn good stuff.

Best cup of coffee snuff I could think of first thing in the morning. The nic is average, meaning quite tolerable to me, not a stark by any means. Damn its rich tasting! I find a smaller than normal prilla to be perfect.

The guy who makes this stuff in Laos, Petter, is a really nice guy and runs a small company. He's going to be experimenting with and possibly making different varieties of los depending on how this does. I'd encourage everyone to get some to support a small operation. That....and it's damn good!

From everything Chad's said, it's snus. I'm not sure why they called it snuff instead. Maybe they're going for the USA dip market? They seem a little small to be taking on a chunk of production like that. You gotta figure, the USA is where it's at for a small maker. Swedish Match owns the Swedish market, and the USA is virtually untapped. By calling the product snuff, they'll have the loose dip market to compete in, and the other makers can supply the portion stuff to people who wouldn't put loose tobacco in their mouthes.

I always thought snus was just another word for snuff. Snuff means, from what I can tell, chopped up tobacco, it can be fine cut, long cut, powdered, and this can says fine grain. The grain and moisture make this what we know as lossnus.

"Snuff" is the literal translation of the Swedish word "Snus". :P

I just tried my first one last night and agree with everyone's comments.
Just to add I could smell a little citrus upon opening the can but really could not taste any. For some reason not sure if it is the different tobacco, grind or a additive but this stuff feels better on the gums then any los I have ever tried.

If I had to compare it to other snus it would lean towards grov, prima, tre ankere and maybe even 01 but definately deserves it's own space. It does have a very nice dark and natural tobacco flavor. Very nice!

This is day three with this Los, my hat's off to the manufacturer. Darn good snus this one, real pronounced natural dark tobacco flavor.
